Pregen Modifications
Post up some pics of modifications you have made on your Pregen.
I am looking for ideas/inspiration to modify the appearance of mine. I have graduated from college and I have a lot of time in my hands and I would like to remain productive. I like how the pregen drives but I am not too fond of the single front headlight. My bike looks like a "minion" from the movie Despicable Me, so I would like to modify it's appearance. Also, somewhere in these forums, there is a thread where someone custom makes the front fairings of a newgen and puts them on a pregen. I also do not mind learning how to make my own fairings out of whatever material they are made out of. Any pics, tips, resources, and ideas are all appreciated.

Congrats on finishing college! What degree did you end up with?
Maybe turn it into a cafe racer? |

Thank You,
Bachelor's in Business Administration Although they are neat, I don't really want to go the cafe racer route until I get a second bike.

Bixenon retrofit the headlight. Then it embraces the eyeball appearances and gets you better light.
if you have the time to learn how to make clear lenses instead of the nasty fluted glass OEM one, lemme know and I'll buy one from you. The retrofit isn't hard, the stinking lens ruins the cut-off though. |

My only thing with street fighters is all that wind blast must get exhausting after a while.

Here's our minion. Makes a nice bike lighter and quicker (We also made it lower, which was necessary in our case):

I always wear ear buds, problem with the wind blast is it is constantly pushing against your helmet instead of a wind shield. So you are taking the full brunt of the wind.

When the wind gets annoying, I tuck behind the windscreen, when I need to slow down, I sit up so my body can also make wind resistance and helps me with slowing down.

Most "street fighters" are what old timers would call "standard" bikes. The stock Ninjette is a nice little standard veiled in plastic. |

you can make a clear lens easily, and if you have access to a vacuum molding machine it's too easy to do. I've seen someone already do this, and it looked OEM if not better. I would have already done this, but I think it kinda takes away from the old school look, but I was thinking of doing a dual setup, maybe in the future, or when something bad happens to the OEM housing.

Well I don't have a vacuum molding setup unfortunately. I wouldn't call it a waste, the cutoff just isn't nearly as sharp as it could be. It's a perfect black vs white above and below the cutoff, but the line is a little fuzzier than it should be. The good news is the light at the cutoff is a soft fuzz because it's dispersed by the lens not the reflector, so you can look at it all day long. No issues with oncoming traffic. Slight issues with an abundance of forground lighting though, so I'll likely be making a forground limiter block off soon
