If anything, this thread proves that America is a diverse and exceptionally large place. I live 2400 highway miles from where I was born and I'm not even on the other side of the country. Where I live everyone knows everyone else and most people are quite friendly.
Basically, outside the bigger cites and away from the coasts, it's more of what you perceive it as. Keep in mind that most of the people live in the cities, but the vast majority of the land is not cities. Most of it is relatively low-population and is often quite lovely. See one of my favorite scenic rides here: http://byways.org/explore/byways/2147/itinerary/62580 So by all means, come visit. America is 50 individual states (plus one district and a few territories), each with its own culture, crime rate, and roads. I live in adventure country where 75% of the bikes sold are dirt friendly. The other 25% are cruisers. Still there are some good twisties if you know where to look, but you're better off here on a 1200GS. |

You do realized you're saying this to someone who's country is almost exactly the same size as ours, right?

2) was there any comparative language at all in my post? The guy asked a question about America and I commented on it. No language whatsoever referring to anywhere but America. |

Except that I'm pretty sure you just called Ben a girl.
And agreed, but who else would be there to bust your balls if not for me?!

the key is to just go out in the countryside and explore. some highways are nice, but a lot of the real gems of America are tucked away in random secluded places!
