Christmas adoption: SV650s

Saw a good deal on Craigslist for a 2004 SV650s and grabbed it. Less than 2K miles, asked $2500, but got it for around 2K as it was in his garage for more than an year & with little maintainance.

I went ahead and gave a good cleanup, tightened the chain/brake etc, changed all the fluids, added some lower fairings and there you go!

Good find! How does it feel in comparison to the 250?

Well, compared to the 250R, the power is nice, esp. at the low rpm range. The seating position is a bit aggressive, but not as bad as a R6 or ZX6R.

The front suspension is not that great and the seats are not very comfortable either. But it is relatively light and has a great V-twin engine. Decent gas mileage and plenty of aftermarket parts. Overall I like it, moreover I don't have the skills to exploit the capabilities of a SuperSport anyway.

I still have my ninjette, plan to keep it for a while

Score!

I think the lower fairing really pulls it together. Was that an option from Suzuki or after market? Just that I see some with and some w/o

It is an OEM accessory for SV650s from 2003-2007 (about $400). From 2008 onwards Suzuki made it standard calling it SV650SF.
