Haha...my form has gotten a lot better since then, so I almost never touch anymore.

Haha, sounds good. I've been working on my form, but I remember in that particular turn, I kept my body inline with the bike. Hopefully track days help out. I want to get some AL rearset adjusters, but I'm paranoid I'm going to scrape something else that will catch. I guess I'll learn from this track day first, then go from there.

I know this is a little off topic from this thread...

I would work on your form before switching to different rearsets...but that's up to you. Read the Twist of the wrist books, they will help a ton.

Ok, back on topic.

Thanks for the advice. I have one of the Twist of the Wrist videos, but still want to buy the book(s).

Yes yes...these tires are excellent!

Tires are great. And after riding them the feel they give over the stock ones is a big improvement in ride comfort and handing. I know I have rode faster bikes over the years and now I have down sized. But come on Kawasaki put some better tires on the bike.

One of the best things I think you can to do it without spending to much money. Thats just my opinion

I just ordered a pair of DR2s! Thank you for being my guinea pigs and trying these out before I bought them

I've put over 5000 miles on the stock tyres and they still look almost new! I'm going to package them up and keep them as spares. I might even switch back to using the stock tyres next winter when the road conditions get worse and subsequently, I stop riding like a maniac

I've been riding on these tyres for 3 days now. They feel fantastic; like I'm glued to the road. I was so excited about getting them installed

Haha, very nice man, they also do super well in rain at highway speeds. Ony other downside is that they are a soft tire and they tend to pick up little rocks off the road. So, for any riders behind you, I'd let them know. I think that's with most tires anyways.

Dude, that's freaking awesome, how much use did they get throughout the day? How many laps?

Not sure how many laps, but I did four or five 20 minute sessions. It was 92°F, and way more demanding and tiring than street or canyon riding. I'm hooked! This is going to be bad for my wallet...

Alright, not bad man. I bet with 92degrees, the track temps were near 110F. I really would like to do a track day where everything is included. I can't afford to race my bike and only form of transport.

Watch that speedo! After a few days with DR2 I kept catching myself doing double the speed limit a bit too often.

You don't have to race. Just go for a track day, with no lap timing or competition of any sort, and enjoy yourself!

Much respect for adding FI to your bike. It sounds like a time-consuming and complicated process with lots of trial and error.

After moving to Ohio for the summer, I've notice the wear of the tire has gone significantly down. I'd say it is due to the fact there are more turns and twists, making me use the whole surface of the tire. It also seems that the tire never seems to get as hot as it did in Savannah.

I heard from my mechanic that diablo rosso are only designed for 100hp+ bikes, and they will never get warmed really good up with our bikes?

Is this true? Looks like you guys enjoying them alot?
Instead he told me to get Pilot Road 3's which were designed for small bikes, havnt decided yet.

I don't think there is a 100+ hp bike in the world that would use a 140/70...

The reason Pirelli makes these in a 140 is exactly for bikes like ours. I'd think a Pilot Road 3 (which I love on other bikes, BTW), would be a good example of a tire designed for a much heavier bike, and might never perform well on our 250's.

i see, but stock size is 130, wouldn't 140 be bad for cornering performance?

That identical tire might perform even better if it were available in a 130, but it's not, so it's a bit moot. A great tire in a 140 rear > a good tire in a 130 rear (IMO).

True! However speed demon II from pirelli is 130 at rear, just wondering if that wouldn't be a better tire then.

Do you mean the Sport Demons? I'm a big fan of them, but there are 20 years of improved technologies between those and the new Diablo Rosso II's. Can't go wrong with either.

Arh yea sport demons, ok thanks. Just need to change the front tier right now, think i will go for rosso ii here since its same size, then see if i stick to sport demons or rosso ii for rear wheel, when the time comes

You shouldn't mix radial and bias-ply tires, best to decide which way you want to go.

Just ordered a set, though I'm a firm believer in the BT45s but since I have the 1000 for longer distances I'ma do the 250 twisty only. If the tires square off then I will have failed

Jiggles, I liked the bt45 but it didn't wear right for me. Ymmv, but from what I've read, I think you'll like the dr2's better for twisties. They'll be better once you make it a track bike for sure.

For what, grip? Yes, mileage? No

The bt45s are a higher mileage tire designed to not square off quite as quickly and give you more grip while you're in the twisties

The only thing you can really say is diablo ross II + bt45 >> IRC

Just depends on what you will use them for

I know "Z" is for 149+mph but what is the difference between "H" and "W"? I'm price comparing and bikebandit.com has variations that Motorcyclesuperstore doesn't have. See link and then Select Option: http://www.bikebandit.com/pirelli-di...otorcycle-tire

ALSO, how would I "scrub" new tires?

Yeah, I'm not familiar with those H and W speed ratings. Never seen them. As for scrubbing the tires, just take it easy on the tires so you get rid of the protective coating on the treads. Don't be heading full speed in a turn.

I have a feeling any motorcycle speed rating on a tire is capable of more than the ninja 250 is

Just ride a little easier/less aggressive for about 25-50 miles to get the initial shine off the tire. In reality unless it's wet, I wouldn't worry about it much.

The bt45s are a higher mileage tire designed to not square off quite as quickly and give you more grip while you're in the twisties

The only thing you can really say is diablo ross II + bt45 >> IRC

Just depends on what you will use them for
Fully agree with you there, different tires suit different uses and users. But any tire would be better that the IRC's.

take a look at some track-only bikes when you go to the track. That's how their tires are.

Ok found out H is for 130mph and W is 168mph. I'm not a racer so I'm ordering the 110/ 70R -17 and 140/ 10HR - 17.
I don't know how anyone in this forum can "take it easy"; as soon as I get on her I turn into a superhero and have to GO! FAST! NOW!! I was hoping for a brillo pad or sandpaper answer!
