selling my bike. ???
Trying to figure out the best way to sell my 09 ninja. Would you prefer a bike with minor farkles already installed, or a stock bike? Part of the reason I bought mine was it had the slip on I wanted at the same price as the other stock bikes on craigs list.
Any advice? After market parts include: Two brothers slipon Dyno jet stage 2 kit. Snorkel removed Tinted zero gravity screen Led front back and tail light Fender eliminator Shinko podium tires Tank pad |

Yes. My next bike will be stock after watching jiggles kick his airbox around... But I still i think first time buyers wouldn't mind the extras for the same price as some other stock bikes on c list though. Although I may be in the minority thinking that.

The best deals are the ones in which you get a stock bike with the extra farkles as a bonus! Put the stock parts back on and sell the bike with bonus farkles.

Yeah, stock bike with the farkles on the side is a nice touch. For me, modding is like saying "the bike is mine" if it comes modded already, makes me feel like it's a hand down.

Ok well I can see what everyone is saying. I have all the stock parts. Would just be easyer to leave the parts on it, but it might take the modding fun away for the next guy.

Stock. Sell it for a firm (but fair. Not CL rip-off here) price and offer the farkles with the bike if the buyer wants them. Sell the farkles if the buyer doesn't want it.
That way, you get the price you want, they get farkles (if they want them) and walk away thinking they got a fair deal. If they don't want the farkles, you still get some money from selling them. |

Sounds like I need to start un modding. I'll probably leave it on Craigslist for over the winter the way it is. I don't really expect to many calls with winter right around the corner anyways.

Don't see why people like to buy a stock bike over modded bikes. Unless the bike has been maintained incorrectly (which isn't exclusive to modded bikes or stock bikes) a modded bike is always more attractive to me because it shows the owner put some effort into taking care of the bike and adding value.
I.E. After dealing with the terrible cam chain tensioner on the pregen ninja 250, I'd be willing to pay more for a bike with a MCT on it than a fully stock ninja 250 because I'd know the owner cared enough about keeping the bike in good condition to get rid of the trash stock CCT. |

Being a bad owner is not exclusive to modified bikes and in the end if I was looking at two well maintained ninja 250s and had to choose between an modded and stock one I'd go with the modded one. |

Lol what maintenance? Most 250s don't even make it to the second oil change before being sold

My pregen had 6300 miles, no mods, and a receipt from every time it had been in the shop. It got every service that it was supposed to. I've kept up that tradition, only I do it myself.
I'm all for stock bikes because it lets me mod the bike in the way that I want, without having to undo someone else's crap. |

You're obviously not going to please every single perspective buyer. Don't worry too much about stock vs modded. You will find someone who will see the value in either scenario as long as you price your bike fairly to your local market. Best of luck.

It depends on the price. If you are selling it with the mods at a price similar to that of stock bikes in your area, I think your bike will look more appealing to a lot of buyers. If you want some more money out of it because of the mods, put it back to stock and sell the extras separately.
