farkle? what is that

where the hell did this word come from??? i was curious so i went searching.
google tells me:

Quote:
Farkle or Farkel is a dice game that has also been called Zonk, Zilch, 5000, 10000, Wimp Out, Greed, Squelch, and Hot Dice. Its origins as a folk game are unknown, but it has been marketed commercially since 1982,, Farkle Rules Blog since 1996 under the brand name Pocket Farkel. ...
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farkle

(Farkled) An adaptable expletive, as in, "You just got farkled.", or used to describe any situation which was bleak or disastrous, as in, "We're farkled." (Tales 4)
encyclopedia.wizards.pro/index.php/List_of_phrases_and_slang

(Farkles) can be added to your motorcycle to customize it. The word is simply a mixture of “function” and “sparkles”, so if it’s functional and sparkles, and you add it to your motorcycle, your bike has been well and truly farkled.

there we go! functional sparkles... but stickers are farkles... and they dont function or sparkle! my world is collapsing in on itself!!!

Hold on........

The term is well known in the sport touring community.

An enthusiast may be in the process of "farkling". The completed motorcycle would be all "farkled up". Radar detectors, Global Positioning System receivers, heated grips, and satellite radios are some of those farkles. Other accessories could be aftermarket seats, side and/or top cases or bar risers, which make the motorcycle more suitable for long miles.

F.A.R.K.L.E. -- Fancy Accessory Really Kool Likely Expensive

Farkle:
Name: An Accessory intended to improve or embellish the original system; opulent luxury item.
Verb: to add pleasure or comfort; to strut about after adding additional items to stock unit thus improving value or performance, usually saying "whoo-hoo" loudly to yourself or your neighbors.

Farkles: As defined by the ST1100 owners' club, a farkle is:

1. (Noun) any modification to one's motorcycle.
2. (Verb) the act of modifying one's motorcycle in some way.

Farkles may have functional or merely aesthetic value, or in fact no value whatsoever! To farkle is to expand one's connection to the motorcycle, to enhance its uniqueness, and provide a venue for personalization.
Farkles are accessories intended to improve some aspect of the vehicle in question.

For example:
- Visibility (accessory lighting, reflective materials, headlight modulators)
- Functionality (suspension improvements, cruise control, turn signal cancellation)
- Visual appeal (chrome, paint, stickers, badges)
. . . and so on."

I think the relative measure of farkleness is inversely proportional to the particular modification's general usefulness. The more useless, the more farklish it becomes.

Their usefulness in the bedroom doesn't count, it's usefulness on the bike that counts.
