Dominion Raceway in VA!
Well, I've just registered for the first track weekend at dominion raceway in thornburg VA, which is a brand new track built over an old one (dominion speedway iirc). It looks really fun! Like in between summit main and shenny turns-wise.
I'm gonna be there 4/23. Anyone else coming by? It's a TPM trackday. The weekend before that (17th) I'm doing a trackday at jenningsgp. RIP money, we hardly knew ye.

Do they allow spectators? My daughter and I might ride down for the day and watch you all. Not ready for a track day yet.

Also, Glen (president of TPM) may be doing his 2up rides. I think it's $25 and you get to ride on the back of his superbike to experience the track as it's meant to be experienced without all the risk/money/time it takes to gain the skills to ride as smoothly and quickly as he does, just a thought that your daughter might enjoy the experience

The old Dominion was in a totally different location.
I had planned to be there on Saturday, but I'm still short one water pump cover and not inclined to bring the CBR. Barring some other unforeseen misfortune, I'll be at SoCal Supermoto on the 17th. It would've (and still may be) cool to do track days on both coasts to start and end my week. Ditto on the 'goodbye money' thing.

Not sure about the specifics on the two-up rides, but for regular trackday shenanigans zip-together two piece leathers were acceptable last time I was out with TPM. Perhaps worth mentioning on the off chance anyone reads "full leathers" and only pictures one piece suits.

they have some on hand they provide for the 2up riding, you do need a full faced helmet for that
if you want to ride the day you need full leathers either one or two piece are acceptable

Pacific Raceways in Seatle needs some pavement in places but it's still fun also. I have not ridden ORP (Oregon Raceway Park) so I can't comment on that one but the people I talk to that have been there enjoy it a lot.

Yeah, I'd rather wait a few weeks and ride a safer track than one that isn't ready so this is fair
if it gets delayed again I'll be annoyed though

I certainly agree with their reasoning, but this has been the story for 6+ months. They had this track on the schedule last year; at what point does it make more sense to just wait for it to be finished and then start taking money/reservations/etc?
I'll readily admit that the bulk of my frustration is sourced elsewhere, but I'm definitely frustrated.

Not about TPM, but following the thread title ("Dominion Raceway in VA!" for those unwilling to scroll): at the riders meeting this morning, Roger Lyle said that following his visit to Dominion and the poor response he received regarding his concerns, he's dropping all Dominion dates for the year. He specifically cited walls on both sides of the track (zero runoff) and the surface itself.
TPM was less dramatic in their cancellation e-mail, but I'm still freshly worried/disappointed.

No, he's referring to rodger lyle's group that is dropping dominion entirely and TPM's email about this weekend being dropped. I personally can see TPM dropping dominion entirely this year as well at this point for safety concerns since I've seen the track and there are legitimate safety concerns to be had

After the little speech by Roger, I am pretty much expecting Dominion will not happen this year. I am signed up for May 7, but am expecting I'll be headed to Summit Main with MXC that weekend instead.
