Valve service - Conflicting decisions

So let me start out by saying I questioned the service guy at the dealer about a valve check. He told me that 95% of the time there isn't a problem and nothing needs being worked on. I know that isn't 100% and I'd be taking a risk, but should I skip the valve check until around mid way of the 15,000 service? It kind of boggles my mind being given such information from a tech.

First valve adjustment is at 12.5k isn't it? What mileage are you at right now?

Service manual says 7,500. I'm at 7,800 at the moment.

The tech is going off generalized information for service intervals for bikes.

I know for the 2009 Honda CBR600RR it's 15,000. For most Triumph Motorcycles it's 12,000. For the Ninja's...its already been mentioned

I'd get the valves checked, carbs synced, spark plugs checked etc. It may be ok and it may not. It's not worth it to me to skip preventative maintenance.

Ps. Cbr is 16k valve check

There's a chance that they are all in spec. There's a chance that some of them aren't. That's why the check is required at 7,500 miles. If you wait thousands of miles there's a chance everything will be just fine. But if it turns out that one or more is getting quite tight, or quite loose, to the point of eventually causing some level of engine damage, the first question Kawi will ask is for evidence that you have been generally following the required maintenance schedule.

My first job was done at 12,000 and my valves but one needed the the very next shim size to bring them back into spec and the final remaining valve needed two steps.

My second job at 20,000 only need one valve adjusted and I probably could have just left it because it was mearly on the tight side of the range.

I plan on my next inspection at 30k then 40k and so on unless I see some major change in the adjustments needed.
