BMW’s Marco Melandri takes two wins to close points gap to Max Biaggi, with Kawasaki’s Tom Sykes second in both races; American John Hopkins 14-15 on the dayMarco Melandri brought his World Superbike victory tally to nine (and his fourth and fifth for BMW) by taking both WSBK race wins at the Brno circuit in the Czech Republic. Both of Melandri’s victories came at the expense of Kawasaki rider Tom Sykes, who led the majority of both races only to finish second twice. It was not a good weekend for championship points leader Max Biaggi, who saw his previous yawning 48-point lead dwindle to 21 points after Brno.
