swans for holiday feast

Anyone know where I can get swans for dinner feasting?
Tired of geese, turkey, chicken, duck, pheasant, quail, etc.

Thanks! 800-steaks.com !!!! Hahhahahhhh!!! I used it to work for the “old man’s” parent company! Was nice getting free pile of steaks for holiday bonus. Even though there’s something about freezing meat that just destroys it. So it’s nice that I would be getting live swan. Will have to set aside extra day to prepare this.

Also found Purely Poultry. But their stock is completely sold out from Oct - Dec 2019. Something’s just odd about air-shipping live birds that can fly perfectly on their own!

Might just fly out to Hong Kong for dinner as that’s cheaper than buying swan for dinner!

We're having our usual leg of lamb, basted in lemon juice, and draped with bacon.

Swan is a pricey bird. The cheapest I found was $1,500 for a pair.

Yeah, costly due to limited demand. Lack of interest probably due to arcane 12th-century British rules. But swan meat is some of tastiest out there!

That would be the first time I've heard of low demand making a price go up. I would think it's more likely to be caused by low supply.

Well, both low supply and demand combined do cause higher prices. The criss-cross curves aren’t linear like classical text-book models. Some would argue that supply and demand are always same since you have only actual sales as concrete objective number to look at. No one actually knows exact supply in non-monopoly markets. And even murkier, no one can pinpoint demand. How many people actually want to buy swans? That’s an impossible number to determine.*

On the ground outside of ivory tower, there’s fixed and variable costs of production. With fewer units being sold, same costs of production must be amortised across fewer units. It’s gonna cost same $1000 to ship cross-country one live swan or 100.

Flights booked! We’re gonna feast on swans for Chinese New Year!!!

Actually, in many areas, it’s open-season on swans year-around. As non-native species, they are wreaking havoc on local ecosystem. Are more aggressive than geese, keep kids away!
