Idea for reinstalling Carb.

I removed and reinstalled my carb last weekend, and was able to fully appreciate how difficult it is to remove, and even more so to reinstall.

I just had an idea that might help somewhat for the reinstall. Spraying soapy water on the engine side and airbox side rubber boots.... just like we lube tires. Maybe others have done this all along, but I haven't noticed it.

Sounds worth trying. I'll test it the next time I swap the carbs.

I use silicone spray or rubber protectorant. Makes rubber parts muuuuch easier to work with and to assemble.

I LIKE that idea..... especially since dish soap isn't the best thing for rubber.

One more thing it is about the clamps that hold the carbs. You only have to turn the screw a couple turns to get the carbs off.

BUT if you try to push them back on it is very difficult. Try unscrewing the clamp more .it will allow the manifold to stretch and the carbs will go on easier.
