(almost new owner of 09 250) =)
Hey, So I'm (almost) the new owner of an 09 250 but being just under 20 years old and only having a part time job I have to finance the bike. The bike is a sexy red with under 600 miles on the odo.
What would you guys expect to pay after the dealer fee's? Hopefully I get her soon cause I'm getting anxious! Thanks! |

Welcome!
I won't pay dealer fees - they are pure markup. Best bet is not to worry about how they word the contract but to deal from the price they paid, plus dealer profit plus tax, tag and title for a total out the door price. Ask them what they bought the bike for, tell them you are willing to give them a profit of a few hundred off that and go from there.

Welcome!
I would expect to pay to much. If the bottom line is to get into riding for the smallest amount $ you might want to take a little more time save up some cash and buy something for less from a private party. Borrowing money sucks! |

Sorry to be a fun spoiler, but I would recommend buying a used 250 instead of off the dealer if you are able.
2 main reasons: 1) dealer is always more expensive. (but gives you the peace of mind. All 250s has a 1 year transferable warranty) 2) You will drop/crash the bike (eventually) I was in exactly your position a few years ago and regretted buying new (i could have saved a lot of $$$) remember to factor in insurance (which would be huge for a new rider, like $1000+ per year) and gear (which is most important). gluck to you! |

Opps, your right, I was thinking about 600cc-1kcc bikes. 250's should be significantly lower.
