140 and 110??

I know there are threads, and I've serached and read, but havent found the EXACT answer..so:

Would there be ANY benefits to running a 140 tire and should I go 140/70 or 140/60?

I commute on the interstate everyday, and casual ride weekends...usually cruise 65-75MPH...I'll hit 80-90 0n occasions. What I'm wanting is a smoother ride on the highway if possible, and I'm just a little nervous leaning those IRCs HARD

Thanks for any responses guys..

actually, running a 140 will make a difference if the tire you want to use doesn't come in 130 and is of a stickier compound rubber.

A radial like the BT-016's would also provide a better ride right.... I remember it being a much smoother ride when I changed over to the 16's.

Lol, to sum up the posts. No there is no benefit, although it wont hurt it either, but as kkim stated some tires don't come in a 130, so if you have to go up a size to get a tire you want then you will be ok.

150/60/R17 is about as big as you can go out back, but thats really pushing it. Keep in mind the rear wheel is only 3.5 inches wide.

Although I love my 16's they are wearing in the center way too much for my liking. I commute daily (a little over 50km r/t) and hit up the twisties on the weekends as much as possible. I've got about 4000km and they are already starting to square off. don't get me wrong, they have amazing feel when pushed hard, but I probably won't be buying them again since i'll be lucky to get 8000km out of them.
