Some fun times on the Dragon!

So I took a nice road trip a few weeks back to the Tail of the Dragon, here are two of the more exciting videos I got from it. Plenty more to follow!

Unfortunately, the last run of the last day my stator died so I ended up having to Uhaul her back home but otherwise it was a beautiful long weekend!

The R32's were there (VW not Nissan) so had quite a bit of fun playing with them even if I couldn't keep up

Although the Dragon has a lot of turns, it doesn't have the banking of Daytona.

Embedded videos and links don't work.

It sounds like you had a good time. The Dragon is very fun if it's not crowded. It's also an excellent place to learn how to take turns, as long as you remain aware that it's not a track.

I'm going for the week-long annual 2-stroke meet in three weeks. I'll have my '72 H2, Ninja 250, and road-converted Yamaha DT100, and my daughter is going with me. We're really looking forward to it.

Thanks Allanoue! Fixing now.

The Dragon has become my go to yearly (8 monthish) road trip. It's a great time camping out down by the damn and just cruising around on twisties. Especially since there are so few fun roads down here in Daytona -_-

Yes, you had fun. I have a feeling you weren't looking through the whole turn when you ran off the road. I think that was probably one of the decreasing radius turns, and if you don't look at the turn's exit early on, it's very easy to get taken by surprise.

Also, I'd recommend (not that you asked) that you practice staying away from the center line. Unlike a track, it's best to not let your tires get left of about the middle of the lane on the left curves. You're leaning left at that point, so if you want your head to stay in the lane, your tires have to be over in the middle.

So that turn can be treated as a double apex and when I tipped in I tensed a bit (IDK why )and as soon as I tensed up I started target fixating on the outside edge of the road.

and yeah it wasn't quite as bad in person as it looks on the videos. Early that weekend when the car guys were still there you really had to watch your left handers!

You do anyway. All it takes is another motorcycle rider going the other way who's tensed up and running wide on his right hander, and it all happens in an instant when you're going in opposite directions.

Not that it's any of my business but were you really going 160mph right before you went off the road? It looked so fast everything was a blur!
