are you asking what its like when it seizes or like shortly before?

If its seized it doesn't turn over.

If its about to be seized its cause it is lacking oil, and might be too late to add and hope for the best.

If you hit the starter and hear a buzz/clicking noise but the engine does not turn over, try charging the battery before freaking out.

A dead battery will often make the starter relay sit there and buzz without any useful turning:

If you want a sanity check on seizure, remove the end cap on the center of the left side engine cover. This will expose a 14mm (IIRC) bolt head that you can use a ratchet and small extension to turn by hand. Normally this is handy for valve adjustments but should answer the question (sorta) presented here. If you're able to turn the engine by hand with a ratchet for a few turns, the engine is not seized.
