I was there last week and wanted to start a thread about how bad the roads are! They don't need any natural disasters to make them worse.

What part of Alabama were you in? The roads that drive on a daily basis in N. Alabama are some of the best that I have been on in years. Didn't feel the shaking either.

I figured I would hear from some one in AL! I was driving down from E TN and spent the weekend in the Birmingham area. The interstate roads sucked and the roads around Birmingham were equally bad.

I know that from my many years in PA that the truckers routinely list PA as one of the worst states. The PA turnpike is bad but the county roads where I lived were almost always in good shape (except for the damn oil and chips). Of course I have seen roads in Philly with sink holes large enough to eat a car....seriously, like a third world country.
