I bought my '08 250 back in October used with ONLY 250 miles and the odo is now showing close to 10,000 miles. I've taken two road trips to Big Sur and Solvang which is approx 2000 miles combined. The rest of the miles are pretty much exclusively canyon riding. I'm planning on riding this bike to the ground before upgrading to a bigger. I almost sold my little Ninja to upgrade but couldn't because I realized just how fun these little machines are to ride.

I have 1100 in just over two months...and there was a vacation in there somewhere.

I should have about 10K by this time next year.

Ive had mine since June 1st and I have 830 miles on it. Also didnt ride it for a week while waiting to bring it in to dealer. I commute 50 miles every day to work and im saving mad amounts of gas money as my old beat up ford focus only gets low to mid 20's mpg. Ive been getting mid 50's on the bike and thats with cruising down the hiway 30 miles a day at 11k rpm.

I had been riding sparingly for a month because I was trying to stave off my "8,000 mile service." When I realized that it was really a 7,500 miles service, I parked it at 7,632 miles and I haven't ridden in about 3 months. That's about 4 months of severely restrained mileage.

It was the VERY LAST shipment of '08s purchased in August when they canceled the remaining orders and instead only sent a few pre-release '09s. You'd better believe I'd be pushing past 9K by now if I had the money to get her serviced.

I crossed the country on mine and I had to ride over 500 miles to get it home from the dealer on Day 1, so a lot of my miles aren't day-to-day miles.

cz, i can't believe you are not riding your bike because you don't want to go past your scheduled service......what is required?...

i have been riding my 04 for 19,000 miles the last 18 months and the only service i do is oil, filter change, lube the chain every 500 miles...that's it...yeah, i almost forgot, i put gas every 250 miles...

and never cleaned or adjusted the chain except when tire is replaced, or had the valves checked...my mechanic says as long as it runs...

this is not a royal enfield...

It's a serious one including a full valve job. The locals quote me $380 + parts to $500 while all the East-coast dealerships were saying $108 + parts to $150. Even if I had the tools to do it, there's a big ol' sign in the parking lot at my apartments telling me that I can't do work in the lot.

I just joined the 10K club today (08/NG).
When I arrived at work today the odometer read, "10001.0"

Does that put me in third place at the moment?

I'm at 12,500, though my odo reads just 10,300. My trip meter didn't work on the original odometer, so it was replaced at 2,200 miles and they didn't roll on the old miles..

I'll play...

'07 with 26.5k miles.

~45 miles/day

I finally bought a second car this year, but still only rarely drive it, usually only when I need to drop off or pick up my daughter.

Bought my 2009 Ninja 250R on May 30th 2009 (had 2 miles on it)

Hello,

I just passed 5000 miles, BUT I was out of the US and not riding from June 21st 2009 - July 25th 2009.

I think that comes out to 1000 miles/week?

Im at 4,900 now, purchased new on 6/1/09. Have not been riding as much as I was due, to the temp dropping low at night, and back tire in need of replacement. Ive gotten 2 speeding tickets since buying my bike, none in car, if I could stop getting speeding tickets I could afford new tires.

09 Ninja 250 here and i rolled over the 9000 mile mark for the year yesterday.

In early spring i said "wonder how many miles i will/can ride this year". I'm not sure what mileage i will reach before the end of the year, but we'll keep riding her each day & find out.

I've only put about 500 miles on the Honda Shadow because the Ninja is so much more fun to ride.

not to hijack the thread but did you get the valves checked at 7500 and if so did they need shimming? Thanks.

lol, I was acting very squidly when I got my first ticket, 74 in a 35 around a blind corner. I got my second one, the day I paid the first one, was going 71 in a 50, also around a blind corner, dang cops seem to appear at the end of corners for me.

My ninja is been sittin at home for the past 3 weeks stuck at 6,100mi cause of the rain.
