@Triple Jim @DannoXYZ I think I have all of the grommets!
Also, just wanted to ask this real quick. I lost a fair bit of oil. Is there any way to change this oil without taking off the valve cover? If not should I just change/top off this oil now so I don't have to take everything off for a third time soon? I have everything off and access to the valve cover right now. I just want to see if I should go get oil before closing everything off tonight. |

Yes, same oil. The engine's oil pump gets it there.

Yes, 4-strokes are evil. I've had this most of my life.

Last time I adjusted my pregen valves I found that is was necessary to tighten the four bolts right the way down using the old gasket to stop minor oil leaks. But I am guessing that you might not have it seated correctly as it really shouldn’t leak much even if slightly loose

@Triple Jim Wow that thing looks sweet! What is it?
@59096 haha yup, what I said below describes me making the same mistake And to give everyone a final update, I'm pretty sure I've FINALLY finished the valve adjustment. The manual calls for something like 87in/lbs of torque, but the wiki says this can be achieved by hand tightening then one more 1/8th of a turn... this is SUPER wrong haha I used my torque wrench and now everything is working, mind the other small issues I brought up earlier but I think those can use their own threads to keep things separate. Thank you to everyone that helped me through this long process! I learned a lot from yall and I'm sure I'll keep learning more |
