Cool

Helmet is only useful protection for slower speeds ........... and for non-invincible riders.

The wind and flying insects in the eyes are the real problems at that speed.

We all have been young and testing limits, ................ some just run out of luck before they become old and slow.

"Speed is life, slowing down in time is life insurance." - J.C.

coming from a 65 mph cruise, i open my visor as im slowing down... 1 spec of dust finds it way directly into my cornea and causes my eyeball to turn into a wad of steel-wool infused fiberglass, tears running down my face all while im focusing out of my other eye that is at half a squint
no thank you

I suppose at that speed, if he messed up, the helmet would just prolong his death; turning what would of been an instant passing on into a grueling several minutes of shock and pain.

Heck, any time I'm over 65mph on the road while on a motorcycle, I'm hoping it's instant death if I do indeed get into a crash. Fact is there's just no way anyone's really going to survive a 'crash' at high speeds or at least get away without losing a limb or two.

I put that in quotes because if you dump your bike on the track, I'd imagine the lack of obstacles and such to crash into would help keep you alive. That and the fact that you're totally in ATGATT mode on the track.

With time and knowledge, those standards of your will grow higher

It is not speed what damages or kills, but the sudden stop.

The trick is not running out of traction, stopping distance, escape path and ideas all at the same time.
