Almost an ex-Ninjetter
So I bit the bullet and bought a new ride. A 2012 Street Triple R, with 1100 miles on it, popped up in the local classifieds and I just had to have it.
I listed my Ninja for sale, and I've been offered beater trucks, tools, porn, firearms and various other sundries, but no actual cash as yet. I'll be sad to see it go, but the new bike more than makes up for it: triumph1.jpg triumph2.jpg triumph3.jpg triumph4.jpg triump5.jpg I'd also been considered just getting a new '13 Ninja 650 ABS, but it would have cost more, and the insurance quotes I got were more expensive than the S3! I did give a shout out to Ninjette.org in my ad for the Ninja - this place has been an awesome resource and I can see myself continuing to spend time here. |

So far I've only managed to get 5 miles on it, but the power difference is incredible. Looking forward to some more lengthy rides shortly

You'll love it. Lovin my '13 haha. Already put over 700 miles on it. And yeah it was cheaper for me to insure my street triple r over a 650r for some reason, no idea why.

Yeah, I rode to my work today, which is a 45 mile round trip. Oh so much nicer on the freeway that my Ninja - though I did shock myself when I looked down and the speedo said 98. The noise it makes is intoxicating though.
And I'm now officially an ex-ninjetter. I sold my Ninja to a girl today - she's never ridden before, and is about to do a BRC. She seemed happy with the purchase, and I was happy with what I got out of it - so wins all around. I was sad to see it go though |

I can agree with that . Every time I open it up, or shift gears, or even just cruising around, the sounds this bike make are just awesome. I don't even have a small desire for an aftermarket system the bike sounds amazing as is.
I haven't broken mine all the way in yet, but passing people on the highway I have to be careful. I'll shoot by them and the next thing I know the bike is hitting 80s and willing to go even faster than that.

Is that all stock? Is that how the headlights come from the factory?

Did the R model not qualify for the free accessory package?
Edit: Skimmed through it it didn't read the craigslist part. Last futzed with by Compooky; May 8th, 2013 at 11:18 PM. Reason: Illiteracy |

I have a bug screen that I need to fit, which I plan on doing soon. I believe that if I'd bought new I could have had an accessory package included. The difference in price didn't make it worthwhile for me though
