They look like they are not as tall as the stock pegs due to the lack of a rubber top. Do you notice any extra legroom? How about vibration?

Got 'em. Easy installation. I definitely used loctite 'cause the thing is screwed together and the movement/pressure of your foot could cause the peg to get loose.

Just wondering...other than looks why are you buying these. I do like the way they look but to those who have bought these...any other advantages?

some people find that having solid pegs gives you a better feel for the bike instead of the rubber ones which feel soft. For me they also gave me a little more foot room between the peg and shifter/brake. You can kinda see it in the pics. Also alot of (if not all) aftermarket rear sets and supersport bikes have solid pegs so there must be an advantage over the rubber ones.

As Shift said, the solid feel versus the spongy rubber is the reason I bought them. They just feel better more solid under my feet.

If they work on my 250, I'll definitely let them know. I'll have to install them and see how they hold up before I tell them though!

Any tips on getting the spring in line with the pin? I'm having a hell of a time getting that damn thing in place!

Jiu Jitsu Player: Kind of hard to describe, but first get the pin through the first hole of the peg. Then push the spring down into place with your finger and once the tangs settle in keep pushing down with your finger while pulling the peg up a little to lever the spring into closing a little. You can then push the spring into position because the leverage of the peg holds it in place rather than trying to squeeze it shut with you fingers, which is extremely difficult. Then you just have to push the pin through or tap it through with a plastic or rubber mallet. It is easier if you have three hands, but is not hard with two once you get the hang of what I am trying to say. Good luck.

I used a flat srewdriver to push the spring down while sliding in the pin. Once its in a little bit you can just tap it through. Remember the top spring clip (or piece that sits on the top of peg) sits a little more back towards the bike and down it.

I couldnt get any part of the peg through the spring. I tried the screwdriver method, but the coils of the spring split apart after a while and the screwdriver head gets stuck in between. Other times, the screw would launch out of there and I dont really feel like losing an eye this week. When I put the OEM one back in the peg literally slid into place no problem. I didn't have too much time to fumble with it yesterday so hopefully tonight I can work on it again. I'm going to check Kkim's DIY on this for some gems of wisdom that may help me out.

Had some time last night to muck around with these and finally was able to get them on. I just used the fattest flat head screwdriver I could find to push & hold the spring down while I worked the pin into place. After I got the first one, the other side went through no problem. I would post pics but just picture Jael's exact pics only on a red bike.

Got em today. They look really good. Glad I got em. and I wasn't even looking to by pegs! I'll throw them on the mod pile.
It's gonna take me weeks to install all these parts or one really long day with out sleep! Wish I had a heated garage atleast! I should stop buying parts....Well a couple more things to go to finish the list....like red/blue loctite....man this is addicting. It can be and expensive habit...I should start selling my needs for my habit....this forum is my enabler... I might need therapy..........rambling! jk

I haven't takin' my ride outta the garage since installing them last night. And Corey the reason I got mines so quick is b/c i'm only about 300 miles away from the seller.....

They stick out roughly the same, but there is noticeably less peg underneath your foot if that makes sense. As far as grip goes, I haven't had any slipping problems yet and I rode with them wet yesterday. For some reason my left peg feels slightly angled downward more than my right. Not sagging, but just ever so slightly lower. It doesn't affect anything at all, I'm just pretty anal about every detail on the bike.

Got my pegs in. I saw where USPS delivered them and I told my boss I had to go home real fast. It took a total of 22 minutes to drive to my house, back and then install them.
First impressions... Sweet!! The fit and finish is great. Installation... Super easy. I put some loctite on them and some lube called HHS2000. I'm not sure what loctite it was. I think it was some high-temp stuff. Anyways, it was the closest thing around. Riding... Much better feel for the bike. My shifts are more sure. They have better grip (haven't tried in the wet yet). They don't seem to wear my feet out as bad as the rubber ones. Idk how that happened but it seems to be the case. All in all... One of the best purchases for my bike. Simple, inexpensive, improves style and improves feeling. |

I just put on some Buell XB pegs before my trip last weekend. They are kind of opposite of what most people want (they lower your foot about 0.75-1.0 inch, and therefore decrease cornering clearance), but they make for a lot more comfortable ride. I was kind of worried that the lack of rubber would make for an uncomfortable ride, but they were great.

sorry. Anyways back to the pegs. As for the pegs I like them alot. They look fantastic. They have less traction than the ol'bumpers but nothin bad. As for sagging I can see them sagging in the future because of the design. There isnt that much in contact with the base it touches(cant think of prt name right now,Factory rearset maybe?). It would be better if the spring notch was not cut all the way through, like the factory rest so there would be more supporting the peg.ya know?

No I just adjusted the shifter and brake and it feels great. When I got my new boots I had to adjust the shifter up anyway and didn't like it. Now I was able to move it back down and it feels pretty much perfect.
