Yea the Projekt D looks great. And I've noticed alot of people on this forum are from NC. I am from the triad area, High Point, Greensboro, Winston Salem.

Wow, that's a pretty good clip from me, I'm all the way over in Elizabeth City, near the Outerbanks. But yeah the projekt D kit is really easy to install. IIRC I didn't even use the instructions, and it was really easy(once I figured out to get the damn rear fairing off. I didn't even think to look at the DIY on here for removing fairings lol)

Ill try to find a link for you, but they make a screw that has a light built into it that you can use to secure your plate to the bike. Heres a link to something similar, but not exactly what im thinking about:

Fender eliminator opinions

Hi everyone, first ever post, and an owner of his very first ninja.

I'm looking at getting a fender eliminator kit for my new bike, and hoping everyone here has some advice on what is good or bad.

I'm hoping to get one that is no-cut, uses the stock turn signals, and includes a light for the license plate (all mandatory to have the bike riding in the street up here in Canada).

Any ideas? I heard yoshimura makes good kits, but are there any that you found to be just as good (or better)?

Ps. mother nature, please warm up and let me take my sweet ninja out. Thank you!

Honestly, save yourself some money and do it yourself. I'd rather spend money on more important things like a jet kit, which would run you about the same amount... the only difference is that you can feel a jet kit, but you don't notice a fender eliminator mod when you're the one riding the bike lol.

This is what mine looks like after doing it myself. I could have enhanced the look by spray painting the brackets matte black, but I didn't care.

That picture that shows your license plate, what is above that, the exhaust like piece? Is that part of the new 2012?

I have an R&G Tidy Tail, and I love it. I did a lot of research before finally getting it. I ordered a Targa, but they are cheap garbage, and the customer service sucks. Stay away.

LOL, mine is on my bike but not wired yet :O Been like that since at least last october. I bought my fender eliminator cheap for 20 bucks, but I doubt you will be able to get a no cut one for that much money.

I know of this one: projektd

Looks pretty clean to me.

I really like mine, it's made by rumble concepts.

I had to modify it slightly to accommodate the factory turn signals, but after 32,000km it's still holding up.

I have the Yoshimura one... It uses the stock lights and I didn't have to cut anything... I really like it!

It's not a great picture, but it's the only one I have since I put it on:

I went with the hacksaw chop as well. I used the money I saved here and bought a Zero Gravity Double Bubble

My cut is more streamlined and along the natural curve of the fender. Took about 30-45 mins because I'm a perfectionist, but I didn't have to remove anything. It looks much better without the old fender.

Mine doesn't really fit your bill as it doesn't use any factory parts and there was some cutting involved... but it gives me the opportunity to whore out my bike some... I happen to love the clean lines and it does have 2 sets of turn signals and the plate has a plate light and reflectors... all "technically" legal except that CA has a no vertical plate law

Well then I should be good as it has two reflectors and an LED plate light

Somehow I think the NorCal CHP is biting down harder than the SoCal CHP though... as I really haven't seen any "motorcycle only checkpoints"... yet another reason I'll stay down this way

Are you talking about the plate or the light for the plate... not very clear? If it's the plate than they would give a lot of people a hard time for that as there are several mounts that are meant for the passenger pegs for both cruisers and sportbikes... both vertical and horizontal.

At this point I haven't seen any upped enforcement anywhere near me... and even if they did I would imagine it would be a fix-it ticket first anyway. I'm definitely not worried about it either way... I'm sure not putting it back to stock or even back to what I had before:

Just not that into those style anymore... I know most people do it... and thats great... but I'm into being different... this also seems like the 3rd or 4th time I've gotten into this discussion with you on multiple threads (basically anytime I post a picture of my bike from the rear) just not sure why you keep bringing up the same things over and over again?!?!

Anyway, sorry for the threadjack... hopefully now back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Seriously? Look at my location (even though I've mentioned this before too) I'm from Oceanside, CA (you made a snide remark before about the San Onofre power plant) which you obviously choose not to remember.

I have yet to put anyone on my ignore list... but I'm seriously considering adding you as every time I turn around you go down the same route and it's getting old.

I get it... you don't like my setup and it's not 100% legal... let it rest. The OP was asking about opinions on fender eliminators... I was showing another option that noone else was presenting. You don't have to continue to tell me that you don't like it and it's not legal

For the love of god and all that is holy let this get back on topic... if you continue to want to debate this just PM me... I will not reply to you again on this thread...

/threadjack... AGAIN!!!

@Cazper

Dustin, I think he just wants to make sure that whoever sees your setup as a suggestion knows these things as well. If he didn't say it in each thread where you promoted it, then the message would not reach the intended audience.

Also, they aren't "technically legal." The turn signals are not far enough apart and they do not have DOT stamps on the lenses (undertail included). Also, there is no EPA stamp on the exhaust and it does not meet federal noise regulations. There is no DOT enforcement, but that doesn't make it legal.

Mine has all the same issues except I have a stock exhaust. I love the look of your bike.

I have the hotbodies kit, it does its job and the plate led is bright, and the plastic is hard but seems like it could crack easy, but looking back i'd rather have saved the money and put it towards something else. The DIY with the stock fender can be made to look good like people have shown plus is free only time spent on making it.
