In regards: 2011 CBR250 kills the Ninjette on the track?

I don't have a clue as to why the thread is closed but I saw it quoted somewhere else and thought I'd reply.

I am 1/2 of the CMRA team who 1st won the overall mini endurance championship w/ an EX250 back in 2007. I have raced the old gen and the new gen and many other bikes and have set a track record in a CMRA ESS sprint race on an EX250 old gen. I built our championship winning bike w/ 08 EX250 forks/wheels to try and keep up w/ the new gens. The new gens are just a little better. Mainly the forks being thicker tubes and the 17" rims. They still chatter when pushed but at a faster speed so you can carry more corner speed. Oh yea, lighter too. But frames are super thin walled compared to the old gen.

I own Road & Track and I helped w/ the suspension on the CBR so I got to see it nekkid.

The CBR is lighter stock and gets down to about 40# lighter than the EX in race trim. The forks are the pretty much the same as the EX and the shock too. What makes it stand out as a better platform is the frame. It has a shorter wheelbase and looked like a steeper rake (but I didn't measure). It looked more like a racebike to me than the EX ever could. The downside will most likely be maintenance issues and $$$ to repair.

Oh, as far as CMRA not being a competitive org, there have been more US and world champs from this small club than anywhere in the world. It is pretty serious racing.

BTW - I built the suspension for almost all of the top EX250 teams .

Sorry to ramble

The reason it was closed was because the OP only came in here and started that thread to put down the ninjette and make it seem inferior in all ways. He never owned or road a ninjette and could only bash on the ninjette while praising the cbr as if it were made of gold.

Your perspective however is much more informed. You are much more informed than that OP because you have worked with both and understand the pros and cons of both. He just wanted to talk smack down on our bikes for no other reason than to start drama.

I know I already mentioned this somewhere, but I thought I'd chime in again

I raced a CBR250R most of last year and really liked the bike, other than getting used to it (stepping down from racing 600cc). I won a lot more than I lost, although I probably had a little more racing experience than most. This year I plan to race both the Honda and my new 2012 Ninja .

I cringe when I read statements like, "CBR250 kills Ninja 250 on the track." Skill has so much more to do with it than the bike, esp. at the club level. At least IMHO.

That's kinda why the OP of that other thread isn't here anymore. He came in here with a big chip on his shoulder with that statement/mentality and did nothing but talk down the ninjette as if it were an outdated POS. He made pretty much the entire forums his enemy with his attitude.

To my knowledge we as a forum have no real issue/problem with the CBR or of people coming here owning one. We like the comparison and the competition for the ninjette. So coming in here and giving a good honest comparison of the two, saying which you like better and why is perfectly fine regardless of which bike you like more.

So please, give us all the details (both of you guys) of the on the track comparison of the more race ready versions of the two bikes. I'm sure others are interested as well.

Thanks for posting. The other thread should not have been closed so quickly.

It wasn't closed because of content. It was closed because the OP was just here to troll on that thread. If you look, Warapura has 17 posts, most of which are in that thread, and all he did was bait and troll. That's why that thread was closed.

Alex has done a pretty good job of keeping this forum clean from trolls. I'll admit, sometimes I take the bate and flame for no reason, but ninjette.org is still loads better than many other forums.

If you go look at Warapura's profile, his most recent activity is November 23, 2011. He hasn't even posted since Alex closed that thread. He had no business being here, and he knew it.

It was closed because it wasnt an actual discussion like we have stated. It was just a dumb ass trolling.

If K had been hear earlier perhaps he could have shut the dude up and made him look even more stupid.

Oh well good read, thanks for the response OP

I too was quite surprised when the original thread was closed. But as a trained psychologist I do understand delicate egos.

It will be interesting to observe the reactions to the 2012 season dominance.

If you look, which you obviously haven't, or have and are making up lies in order to promote your beliefs, you'll see that you're talking nonsense.

Hopefully we can all be mature adults about simply comparing two vehicles.
