First Ride with Intiminators
I finally installed a pair of Ricor Intiminators about a month ago, along with the correct springs according to Race Tech, just now finally got some nice weather to get a short ride in. They make a huge difference with big bumps! Really smooth them out, I hit a few sharp bumps and was amazed that the front barely moved! I'm very pleased with this upgrade.
The downside is that now the too stiff rear suspension is really highlighted. I'm afraid I'm going to have to remedy that, but maybe not until next winter.

Sorry, here it is: http://store.ricorshocks.com/product...20-1001nin.htm
I put 5W fork oil in too, which is what they recommend to use with them. I had to trim a hair off the plastic ring on the Intiminators to get them to fit, no more than a millimeter. Other than that, it's just a drop in install. Some people drill out their damper rod holes in the forks, but I didn't.

Ralgha, I had the same experience with them. They really do make a good difference in how the damper acts. I think I went with 0W fork oil when I did them rather than 5W.
You're right, theoretically one should also drill their damper rods when using these, but the light fork oil seems to work well enough. I ended up selling my bike before I was able to get around to playing with drilled damper rods though. Glad you like them! It's amazing what a little help on a damper can do. |
