BENNETTS is fulfilling a motorcyclist’s ‘ultimate biking dream’ every day between now and Christmas. At least that’s what the insurance firm says. A look through some of the past winners made us wonder if ‘affordable biking request’ might be a more fitting description.

They include Kevin Bartlett, who dreamed of a helmet and gloves, Carl Holdsworth, who wanted a pair of boots, Tim Pykett, who needed some ‘new tools’ and several riders who won Bennetts track days.

Entrants submit their dream online and Bennetts, which made £36 million profit last year, usually selects one winner per month, on criteria including 'viability'. With such prizes on offer, Visordown reporter Luke Bowler couldn’t resist submitting his own ultimate biking dream to the website. Here’s his entry:

‘A man once dreamed a dream, I did the same. Main difference being mine heavily featured chain lube. I have tasted the sweet nectar of what an existence with chain lube would hold, and now life will never be the same. This isn't a selfish dream though, this is a dream for my chain. A dream where I see my chain spinning in so much lube it doesn't even know what to do with it. That's how much lube I'd like.’
