(shut-up rojo - I know you could take it at 60mph, in the rain after a drought :P ) The only other thing I can think of, is he may have been stiff on the bars or jerky on the throttle.

Ouch. When it slipped, he went down fast! In a split second. No time to react at all. His body position....did it seem like he was counter-leaning into the turn? Leaning the bike, but staying upright?

^ I think so too. The bike was quite leaned over for what looked like a shallow turn.

Roundabouts are the most dangerous things on the road for motorcyclists wet or dry.
A combination of oil and scrubbed off rubber from the centre of the road to the outside only the very inside tends to stay free of crap. To use it you have to cross over the dangerous part so take it easy on roundabouts especially in the wet. Steve

Damn, that sucks. I do try to avoid circles when i can just because no one knows how to properly navigate them.
