trouble with living in the middle of nowhere, have to ride far to get anywhere. You're not to far from @chrly, we should go riding when the mountains clear. Yeah, they're basically clear now but I don't do snow. LOL
Yep, just up the road an hour or so from Folsom. Hiding out now until I get this flubug gone. Sure dont wont to be in public places or to pass it on somehow...

Sunday, after our first actual winter storm, I went out to Dixie Valley for fun.

Thought I would share some blue with you folk back East.

Looking towards the Clan Alpines

Panoramic

Looking north along Dixie Valley Rd (Jobs Peak is the snowy one on the left).

Trying to be artsy.

Looking south along Dixie Valley Rd towards Fairview Peak. This was the tail end of the storm as it looped around. I just liked how you can see how clear it is behind me in the mirror.

My ride to Donner Summit and Downieville.

Pioneer Monument at Donner State Park, the top of the base is 22 feet, the depth of the snow that winter.

Highway 40 vista point overlooking Donner Lake. This is our snow level this year. Ugh.

Looking towards the historic snow sheds for crossing the Sierra in winter. http://railroad.lindahall.org/essays/innovations.html

Rainbow Bridge

Pulled over to check out this waterfall and found an old water fountain built by a CHP officer sometime prior to 1968.

Stamp mill sitting out in Downieville

Funny story happened in Downieville today. As I walked to the store, I heard a friendly "Hi!" Looking around, no one was on the street. I kept walking and heard "Hello!" Still no one out. I looked up to the second floor balconies on the buildings, and spotted the bird cage. Large green parrot whistled at me. "Hi, birdy!" "Hello!" Friendly bird was greeting everyone that walked by her cage.

As I was sitting there eating my lunch, watching my experience happen a few times to other tourists. The bird also had "Good bye!", her owner's name "Will!", and a few different whistles.

Decided to get a picture of my odometer.

Not sure what type they are. I had pulled over to check on the chain and saw this little white flower and a little yellow flower in bloom. Both are wild so were scattered all over the desert floor. This one just happened to be clumped in a small circle.

Yesterday, decided to get two more stamps in my passport book.

First went to Cave Lake

And then went to the Ward Charcoal Ovens

Something soothing about a remote dirt road, a scratchy FM country station, and miles of open sky.

Saturday, asked a friend out for a ride. He recommended heading down to Lee Vining, but the weather was so unpredictable, we were really cautious all day. Turns out, the day was beautiful!

Stormy!

Went riding over five passes last weekend. Got a few pics.

Whispering Giant in Reno

Me and the Lake Tahoe State Park supervisor, Jay Howard, after I finished my passport book.

Looking down into New Melones Lake, at the recently revealed Old Parrots Ferry Road bridge that was submerged in the early 80's with the construction of the new dam. There is also the old dam, the old Hwy 49 bridge, and the old town of Melones that are starting to show as the water level drops.

Some cool mountain tops above Donnell Lake. I think this is the Dardanelles.

Bought the Ninja as a temporary bike to get around while my DRZ E/SM is being fixed. Got a little impatient and decided to hit some trails with a mate.
Went fine offroad through mud over rocks and grass etc. Wasn't until just after this photo I thought id try to do some donuts on the grass that I stacked it Bike had been crashed by previous owner but I did make it a little worse haha

Browsing through the photos here I must say Nevada is now on my list of places to visit if I ever go to the US.

Oi, been falling behind.

For November, went on two small rides. The first just to get my oil hot enough for analysis (report here) and the other to go looking for clear roads before the storm (report here).

First real washing in a long time (and she's filthy again already)

Shawn and I on some snowy back country road in California

Unknowingly found a Doggie Diner head, a 50 year old icon that stood in front of a Bay Area burger chain.

Saturday, wanted to catch a ride in between storms. It was 30*, cloudy, windy, and began snowing on me coming home. But did enjoy my visit to the IBA Memorial on Guru Rd outside of Gerlach, NV.

I did stop for lunch at Bruno's and had a big heaping plate of spaghetti. Watching the snow roll in from across the valley really made me want to stay up there for the night, but (correctly) guessed that the mountains between Pyramid Lake and WinnemuccaLake would block the system engh for me to sneak through.

Didn't take many still pictures from my Winter Solstice ride, but did get this one of just how silly it was.

Took a short 100 mile ride yesterday since I won't be riding for a few months. Weather was calm though cold, but thanks to all my heated gear it was pleasant. Mostly just wanted to round off the odometer before dumping Sta-bil into my tank for the first time.

Hey guys!
I have more free time now and it would be great to go on travels. Who can recommend interesting spots?

You don't have much of a location in your profile, so it's hard to recommend places to travel to. We have some great motorcycling destinations in NC, particularly in the western part.
