Seems to run on the cold side.

I think you need a new lens on your speedometer. This one is very cloudy.

Are the roads always that congested?

I am assuming that is in KM, so about 100 mph

In about 2 weeks time I'll be taking it do the drags to see what sort of time it can do on the 1/4 mile. Most estimates are about 15.0-14.5

Going to see if I can beat that

I guess I would have expected it to be faster than that. A healthy ninja 250 will do 100.

14.2 is my best time . 1/4 mile. Someone went 14.0 and I don't think anyone has ever gone 13.99.
Most are 14/15
Be safe

Well as it turns out they are only doing 1/8 mile drags, about 200 meters.

As for only reaching 160KM/h. The bike has the wrong model CDI for the engine that is in it, has a 57 tooth rear sprocket, 140 section rear tyre, and the engine is over 20 years old, though with new rings and gaskets.

Once I replace the CDI with the correct unit, put on a 55 tooth rear sprocket, and a 130 section rear tyre, I'll have another go.

You can see this video where the rider gets it to 190KM/h plus, but it's an earlier non-restricted engine.

Cool little bike. I dont know the laws down there, what about the motor is restricted? Is there code in the CDI or smaller carbs or what do they do to reduce output of a 250cc motorcycle?

The 93 and 94 engines have different cams and the redline start position got moved from 18,500RPM to 16,500RPM. But as a result they have more torque.
