Ride it like normal, vary the rpm, don't worry too much about the break in period(I got tons of people with tons of motorcycle experience tell me that), just make sure you change the oil, cause you don't want that filthy oil in your baby DIY oil change: http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=10780 |

There are a lot of threads about this if you search "Break in period" etc.
If you have to commute with it, just ride normally and vary the RPMs. You don't have to follow the book to the "T". Just ride like you normally would, except try to avoid redline. It won't hurt the bike. Plenty of people have done hard and soft break in periods with no problems. Change your oil more frequently (every 200mi I'd say) if it's revving higher for the break in period, 1k miles or what-have-you then switch to a normal interval, you and the bike will be fine. |
