My almost new truck.
I bought it last Tuesday. It's a 2011 with 22k miles and nearly flawless.
I really like it so far. I already installed a K&N performance intake. Might do a few more mods in the future. Now I'll have no problem getting my bike and all my gear to the track.

Congrats. I bought one last year. You will enjoy it!
Short or long bed? Can't tell by the pics. A curved ramp is a must. I couldn't get the bike up with a straight ramp. |

Thanks, it's got a 6 ft bed I think. It's big enough for a motorcycle, but getting one in and out of the bed is scary. I plan on just getting a small trailer.

The first couple of times loading the bike in the truck bed is scary. After that, piece of cake! But a trailer is the way to go. I'm jealous!
If you haven't already, check out the Frontier forums. Lots of good info on the truck. |

A little over $22k out the door. Traded in my old POS Pontiac for $500.

Have you ever used the Turtle Wax product for black cars? I can't think of the name off hand but it has a black coloring in it that helps hide scratches and such. I used it on my last car and loved it. Just have to make sure to put a good coat of wax over it afterwards. But that's a clean looking truck, congrats.

Thanks, I'm lovin this truck more everyday.
I guess the people who know about detailing wouldn't even consider using a Turtle Wax product, or anything you can buy at the big name stores. I actually like Turtle Wax products though, and think their F 21 Super Protectant is the bomb. I did look at their wax for black cars, but passed on it. I'd give the paint on this truck a 9 outtta 10, so I don't think it would do much. Unfortunately though it seems that water based auto paint hasn't been perfected yet, because the paint on this truck will chip or scratch down to the bare metal if you look at it wrong. Which I found out a few days after owning it, but nothing a little touch up paint couldn't fix. The weather was nice on Monday, so I washed it, went over all the paint with Meguiar's clay bar, and then "waxed" with Nu-Finish. I've never used Nu-Finish but have heard good things about it so I decided to try it. It's looking good so far, and it rained all day yesterday.

+1 for the Meguiar's
As for getting the bike into the truck If you have a driveway (or if you can find one) that dips at the end it makes it very easy. just drive to the back wheels are at the bottom of the dip and it makes it much flatter. |

That is a good idea. It's not getting the bike into the bed that's a problem though, it's getting it out that's the problem.

obviously you put it in backwards initially and then just wheelie out
But that is always the issue isn't it. I would recommend something like this. http://www.rampconnection.com/Black-...0817-HD-2.html (Don't take the price to heart) The ramps are long and curved. Making the incline less steep. And the benefit of having 2 is that you can stand on one making it easier to guide the bike down. |
