Calling on Ladies!
So my girlfriend loves riding with me on the bike. I convinced her to get her permit. Low and behold, she did. Didn't take much convincing since the weather warmed up and we've been on mine a lot lately. Now we've been searching for a cheap 250 on CL for her.
Anyways, onto the real questions. We've been looking through tons of different sites for jackets for her. Now i've only bought one jacket in my life and its a heavy armored leather A*'s jacket. I'm looking for a lightweight mesh/textile armored jacket for the hot days. She's getting an armored jacket no matter what she says. I love mine. It probably won't be till next summer till she gets her own bike so for right now she only rides with me when its warm/hot and dry. So she doesn't need any rain gear or heavy leather type jacket. Just an armored mesh/textile jacket. What types are all you ladies wearing and what do you think of them? |

http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/a...lus-air-jacket http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/i...th-mesh-jacket (closeout) I have http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/i...-contra-jacket in mens and its been fantastic. Elbow/Shoulder pads fit perfect and the airflow is great. Havent had any problems in Central CA weather getting too hot. Bad protector isnt the best but then again most arent. |

I've had the Icon Arc Textile and currently have the Icon Overlord Leather. Been happy with both. I don't like the styling of female clothing

I wear the Tour Master Jett jacket. If I had the money to change I'd switch to the Flex, since I love the Flex pants I have.
Comfortable for me, i don't get too hot in it (my Icon orange vest blocks the vent holes of the jacket) and the extra removable layer inside is good for cold rides, though the sleeves are too long for my short arms, leaves the elbow armor hanging a bit away from my arm when riding.

Mesh really isn't very protective but dang it's cool if you do more stop-and-go city riding. I also have the Cleo 2.2 but favor my other for safety since I do a lot of freeway.
For my basic riding jacket I have the Speed and Strength Motolisa jacket. I love it to death and it fits really well for someone small but busty. The elbows and shoulders are actually leather, too. Probably not the best but it's a nice piece of mind. |

FWIW, Alepinestar fits women best!
Their perforated Leather Stella line is awesome. It's well vented and much more protective than mesh jackets. She'll have it a lot longer. You can usually find deals on e-bay, too! |

Not sure what size she is, but I have a pair of Ladies Teknic sz 6 leather pants that I'll let go of pretty cheap. too small for my gf. CE knees, velco for sliders and both sides of the zipper so you could add it to whatever jacket you wanted...

What's your budget? I'm a big Rev'It fan, I wear this: http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/r...ition-2-jacket on the street and it fits great and is very weather adaptable (removable liners, double zipper sleeve vents) and is a 'compound' jacket -- mesh for ventilation, leather where it is most likely to be needed.

Not sure exactly what she'd spend. I know she really likes riding to the point where she wants her own bike, so i'm guessing she's open to any helpful suggestions.

I still stand by my Joe Rocket but it would probably be more helpful for her to go to a store (like revzilla or similar) with a sizable selection and try different jackets on. See what ones she likes best and feels comfortable. Check out reviews for the ones she likes best. Womens jackets all fit different, even in the same brands. my cold weather jacket is also a JR but one size up from my mesh.

I just purchased a FirstGear jacket from Revzilla and I really like it. Here's the link to it:
http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/f...ur-mesh-jacket I also have a mesh Speed and Strength jacket: http://www.ssgear.com/catalog/item.c...8-1aa62684e5bb BTW: I'm willing to sell my Speed and Strength one if you don't feel like spending a lot of money on a new jacket. It's a size small/red.
