hmm interesting. So you changed the low beam bulb only? or you tinted only one side of the headlights?

as for the headlights, i ordered a kit but one of the bulb was busted so i end up installing just one. i kinda like the effect though of different colored headlights

im going to install the other one eventually, still waiting for the replacement bulb i ordered (6000K this time)

i'll probably swap the two so my 6000k goes to my low beam and 8000k goes to the high beam.

hopefully it wont take me 5 hrs this time changing the bulbs

I almost did the same. Hey Gary, what was the reason behind not doing just low beam tho?

well, i was thinking that i didn't want to blind people that were ahead of me or coming towards me with the high beam HIDs. then i was thinking, well i don't run my high beams in those situations anyways. only when the road ahead of me is clear of cars in either direction, otherwise i will switch back to low beams. i told kkim about it and he reinforced what i thought, so i figured i would just go ahead with both high and low beam HIDs.

and when the lights are properly aimed, you get the best of both worlds with the hids. added brightness with the lowlight so the cagers notice you and added road visibility on roads where you really need the extra light output the highlight deliver.

I ride an unlit canyon road at night and would not think of riding it with the stock highlight bulb ever again. lots of critters on that road at night.

Well since I no longer have the bike anymore I guess this is the best pic of her.

Not the highest quality pic (taken on cellphone) but you just can't beat a picture of a bike out where it belongs.

Mista Bob you are 1 tough SOB! You must have all the right gear of course. My problem is on the other end of the scale, say when it is 110 degress F and the road is spitting heat waves at you like a blow torch.

Imagine the sweat bullets rolling down from the top of your helmet all the way to the tips of your toes...

I actually use very ill suited gear for cold weather riding.
For next winter riding season I'll be getting myself a heated vest for sure, and perhaps heated grips.
Don't know about the grips. .

All I have is a (very) perforated leather jacket without a liner, some rain gloves with a liner a balaclava under my helmet and some simple riding boots.
I wear two pairs of jeans as I still need to get the zipper replaced on my leather pants to zip into my jacket.
I wear two sweat shirts under the leather jacket, one of which sorta blocks the wind other insulates.
If it's cold enough I'll sometimes wear my plain non riding (no armor) thick leather jacket that has zero venting.
I'm not confident that it would stand up in a crash though.

My will to ride is stronger then my will to keep warm.
Whether that's a good thing or not, I honestly question at times.

Holy crap-bags batman...you do sound like a tough skinned dude!

What size jacket do you wear? Maybe I can snag a coat from the local Salvation Army for you

RIDE ON!

you're so lucky! Once it hits 0 degrees out the salt trucks here work overtime - no chance of getting a ride in

That is an amazing picture though!

Thanks, it was a nikon d200. I have a lot more, but they are still being edited :P. Including a hdr or high dynamic range photo...hoping that it works out as the bike is no where new that condition anymore...(even after all repairs are completed). External flash, and a 6 headed lamp was used with the lights pointing in different directions to give that showroom shine.

The white balance was left on auto. Yellow white balance to give the b&w look without being b&w.

Hello all,

The stickers were there when I bought the bike. I might take them off later, but decided to keep them for now. Although I don't recognize most of the names I thought they did a good job of breaking up the expanses of green.

Thx!

too bad makua valley is closed off to non-military personnel. i would love to go up there and see that view again.

amazing! how do you know its in kaena point?

i was planning to go around the island but the road ends where i took the picture so i had to go back.

yeah, true, the road leading there is kinda scary. rows and rows of makeshift tents for the homeless i dont want to be caught there at night time

we used to go to makua valley, which is right before kaena point, to do our live fire exercises when i was in the army reserves. it is a shame that what the military has done to such a beautiful valley.
