Any essential upgrades I need?

I'm just wondering if there are any parts I should get for my stock 2007 250 that I really need. Things that would greatly enhance my riding experience. Not just things for fun or to make my bike look cool or go faster, but things that actually are "needed" upgrades or improvements over the stock parts that will increase ergonomics and ease of riding. Enhancements that you think are essential for all stock 250's of this year. I really need help knowing what is needed and what will be better spent later on when I have more money. Thanks

The only mod I might suggest that's a bit more then just tires, gear, and training, would be the suspension. If you can I suggest getting at least a new-gen rear shock and stronger progressive springs in the forks. This helps so much with the bike's handling and feel on the road. Other than that it's either a farkle or a go-fast mod really.

In the end it's up to you if you want to do anything to it.

If not getting run over by "seasoned citizens" and soccer-moms driving enormous SUVs counts as an enhancement to your riding experience, you should look into getting a headlight modulator.

I use the Kisan Pathblazer. It pulses the headlight when you select bright lights during daylight (it has a light sensor). It's a gentle pulse of the headlight, alternating between 20% and 80% brightness.

It's good for preventing people from standing over your dead, smushed body saying things like, "I never saw him" or "he came out of nowhere."

If its a new-gen bike....

Remove rear seat, unbolt the plastic keeper over the toolkit...toss in garbage, and enjoy increasing the storage space in the tail to double its capacity. Then use it to put one of these in it....so you always have a way to get it home, whatever "it" might be.

Pssssst, this is in the pre-gen section and he has a 2007. Just saying: attention to detail.

Nice accessory for the new-gens though, too bad this isn't the new-gen section.

Greg, that headlight modulator sounds cool. I was thinking about getting some led lighting to make me more visible at night but I didn't know what would help during the day. I'll have to look into that!

I'd say the most important thing is more riding experience. If you're looking for things to do to the bike, tires, a washer on each carb needle, sticky tires, innexpensive suspension, the list goes on.

ride it. see what you like/dislike about it. change as wanted. I'd say that a new set of good tires will make the largest difference you can get from only doing one thing
