Always at home. AKA What do you mean, it's not a dirt bike?

So, second rainy day of the season here (at least for the ride) and I made it home just fine, in spite of pouring rain, gusting sidewinds, and nasty roads from the construction. Heck, that's just old hat by now.

So I get home, (almost) and drop the bike in the dirt road 50 feet in front of my house. Try picking up a bike in the mud, not a whole lot of fun. The dirt road is all torn up, so I take it nice and slow, and the rear wheel just slid down into a hole and wiped out. That's what I get for not opening my visor so I could see better before I went into the mud I guess.

So, the only casualty other than my pride seems to be my turn signal, so now it's time to decide between a junkyard turn signal and a flushmount. I kind of want a flushmount, the stocks are just all kinds of ugly. Any suggestions?

It shattered, definitely not fixable. I meant ideas for flush mounts that are good. Anything that is cheap enough that doesn't require drilling different holes?

true story, one time my bike was sliding away from me and i watched that little turn signal bend as it slid over the curb only to launch the ****ing bike, land again on that little turn signal, to suffer ABSOLUTELY NO DAMAGE TO THE SIGNAL! (aside from scratches)
maybe you just aren't a good crasher

edit: <--- i just realized what i'm talking about is in my avatar.

Sorry to read about your mishap, Tim.

We always drop the guard close to home.

It hit pretty hard, I'm not sure why, since it was in the mud, but maybe it came down on a rock. Or the dirt was shaped just right so the brunt of it came down right there. It also bent my brake lever though. Although not enough to care about.

Yeah. I think what happened (I wrote that up last night when I wasn't thinking it through, just annoyed and pissed) was that it slid out a little, and I caught it, but my foot slid out. The mud on this road is very, very slick. Multiple people have slipped and fallen just walking into the house from the driveway. I usually can get through it just fine, but like I said, I didn't lift the visor, so visibility was a little crappy, so I wasn't picking my way away from the holes in the ground properly.

I know the stupid thing shattered, and there are wires hanging out. Haven't gone out to look at it since it got light. I'll do that tomorrow.
