Removing Mirror Bracket (without removing all the fairings)
How do you remove the mirror base bracket without removing all the fairings? I'm trying to install these mirror extenders - http://www.ebay.com/itm/08-11-Kawasa...7b153a&vxp=mtr.
However, this mirror extender requires me to remove the base bracket, but I'm trying to find an easier way to do this without removing the side and front fairings. If anyone has any ideas, pictures, or videos please let me know. BTW I have a 09 Ninja 250r. ---UPDATE--- Ok I finally had some time and I got these mirror extenders on and I did NOT take off the lower fairings. I basically took off the screws for the front fairing and windscreen. This allowed me to peel back the section next to the mirror and stick a socket wrench in there with an extension and get the two bolts off. As long as you take your time you'll be fine. Below are some pics of my new mirror extenders. These look GREAT!!! You can't even tell they were not originally part of the bike. I road today and it was very windy and they held up just fine. I'm very happy. Check them out... 2012-03-08 10.54.57.jpg 2012-03-08 10.59.24.jpg 2012-03-08 10.58.37.jpg Last futzed with by killermase; March 8th, 2012 at 03:21 PM. Reason: update |

@ the original topic....I have the bike apart right now (winter - ice everywhere) and I really don't see how you can access the mirror base brackets without removing the front fairing.. It might be possible to do it without removing the side fairing. PS. Please provide a review and tell me if they are worth it. Very seriously considering those ! |

I'm wondering why they didn't just make longer bolts instead of that strange bolt into bolt method they use. Anyway, I'm pretty sure you need to take off the front fairing. Get some replacement rubber wellnuts and install them while you are at it!

i put the SW-Motech ones that are very similar to they ebay ones you are looking at but they are longer. they don't actually fit so i don't recommend them.
http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...view/2518/704/ if you have the tools you can pull the inner fairing away just enough to get them installed. i used a really skinny 1/4 inch ratchet and slipped it in. |

I have to adjust my right mirror some more, but the left side has a big improvement. I now only have to lean a little to left to see cars behind me similar to a car. I no longer have to lift my arm to see behind me so I'm very happy. |

I got my mirror extenders last night. I will install them and make a video of the process sometime soon.
I have some feedback/comments to make but you will find those in the video. |
