Flapping your arms like a bird is a better workout; it is free and you don't look like you are practicing for the pornolympics.

Nope, I can tell just from looking that this works. Your muscles are working against the weight shaking.

Really? I must dissent. I have seen this thing used IRL, and have actually attempted it for a couple awkward seconds. The result feels more like how I feel after typing for too long: sore wrists and tense forearms. It is such an unnatural movement. It would be better to use it as a dumbbell for bent over rows or tricep kickbacks, where the reciprocating weights add resistance to a proper full-range-of-motion exercise.

Maybe you were using it wrong or it's something you need muscle to use? Either one of those or they're selling a different product than they're advertising. I haven't seen it in real life. The way it's demonstrated in the commercial makes sense and would work, provided it was functional and used properly.

well there's your problem.. who cares how it works and how funny it is to watch.
a few seconds does absolutely nothing compared to how long your actually supposed to do it..

give it a try again, this time clear your mind and try for about 5-10mins
bet you start noticing muscles you never even knew you had

Seems to be intended, in fact, for people without much forearm musculature; the implication is that this device will burn fat with the smallest movement your forearm is capable of performing, as well as the least correct ergonomically. In practice the isolated movement gives the illusion of soreness associated with muscle fiber damage that prompts muscle strengthening, but is more likely a sign of a repetitive stress injury. Are there any personal trainers or kinesthesiologists here? Am I even close on this one?

I just did the workout. I am definitely not the intended consumer. 10 minute workout < 4 minutes/ 2-3 sets in the gym. It has been about 2 minutes since I finished and only my wrists are feeling anything.

Conclusion: jerking practice FTW

I still don't understand why they make this for men. We have a built in shake weight.

But making the one for women.....well.......it's good exercise

Exactly! It's like people buying those handles for doing push-ups. Push ups were FREE!

And the problem with this type of device is a lack of progression. Progression and consistency is what yields results....not weird masturbatory aids.

Now women using this on the other hand.....LOL...hand....

It's possible that some people won't get a work out from the shakeweight... seeing as some of us already vigorously exercise the same muscle group. ;P

It's important to work both sides equally to avoid imbalances.

Instead of starting a new thread I searched and found an old one to revive. Funny stuff.
