DIY: Speed Bleeders
Ive finally installed the correct size speed bleeders on my ninjette the other day.
The M8x1.25 Bleeder screw PN:SB8125 is the correct size for the new gen ninjettes Heres a picture comparison of the new gen OEM screw which is M8x1.25(#1), the correct Speed bleeder screw PN:SB8125(#2), and the old gen speed bleeder screw which is a M7x1.0 PN:SB7100S(#3) http://www.ninjette.org/forums/attac...1&d=1297666990 |

As mentioned before, The advantage of a speed bleeder is for when your say at the track, just came off a really hard set of laps and your lever has become soft from boiling the fluid.
A simple crack of the speed bleed can release air, without drawing any air back in.

no its a ball check valve when you loosen it a quarter turn,
when you squeeze the brake lever which hydraulicaly depresses a ball bearing against a spring to allow the fluid to bleed out of the system. Then instead having to tighten the screw down before you release the lever flike in a typical brake bleeding project). the ball bearing seats back down to close off the system preventing from air being sucked back in the system. just FYI they're like $20 shipped for a set, maybe a little cause I'm in hawaii. so they'are relatively cheap and very cost effective. |
