a new record for me

ran out of gas on the way to work (not uncommon for me), pushed it into work and went with a coworker to the gas station, filled up a bottle full of gas, put the gas in the bike and rode to go get more gas... but i ran out of gas for a second time on the way to the gas station! faaaaaail. pushed it to the gas station.

i need to push that thing more. its such a great workout

Why don't you have an odometer/speedometer/gas gauge on your street bike? My bike's a race bike and I still have those. LOL.

its... complicated.

speedo/odo because the spline in my fork that connects to the speedo cable is stripped and i havent replaced it yet so i took the speedo and cable off.

the bike never had a gas gauge, and the previous owner cut the tubes for the reserve so it has no reserve.... or rather "on" is the same as reserve.

it has working temp stuff but i need to get a very specific screw for the temp gauge to work, havent gotten arouund to finding it.

it does have a tach! but i never look at the tach when riding... i go by sound, so i moved it to where it was more useful to me when im working on the bike and off of it so its on top of the tank pointing to the sideish

Makes no sense, unless you mean he cut down the regular pickup to match the reserve one...

hehehehehe

its not that i'm lazy, there is just so many other things to do to that bike before something as unimportant as gauges are done.

like... keeping all 4 cylinders firing, and maybe a real intake... oh and headers that arent rusted through... and i donno maybe... some body work.

it will be ready before chuckwalla though. xmas is going to be good for that bike. new intake, exhaust, all-metal gas tank, new suspension in the rear, and a rebuild up front, a tail (...maybe), and lots of tuning love from a mechanic friend of mine who works at a place with a dyno.

Living on the edge.

I have a friend that had a Jeep CJ5 with no gas gauge. He had a stick to dip and 2liter bottle at all times. It was a great adventure every time we went out.

LMAO. I can picture you pushing your bike all over. I can also picture onlookers watching and thinking "him again!"

It has a tachikoma?

Cool! I agree that you don't need to look at your tach. They're noisy robots: you should be able to judge it's position on the road by sound.

Having one of those around would be annoying, they talk so much. Actually alex could use one, it would constantly talk to him about running low on a gas and how he should refill.
