Okay, this will be my last reply about it then, Just to end the curiosity, I have Liberty Mutual, It was the same coverage (comprehensive + liability) for both bikes, even though the cbr is worth more, they said it was the year that mattered more.... Idk why that matters but it seems to for my particular provider.

By the way, the rate is about $280 a year, I'm 22 with a clean record. There are tons of discounts if you know where to look, they also insure my car, families cars, etc. + I get discounts for being a college student, going less than 10k miles a year, etc.

I think they decided that the newer the vehicle is, the more careful you will be with it. that's why my brother's car insurance was cheaper for a brand new model than for one a few years old.

Hey man, no need to be rude. I was just sharing my opinion. I like 600cc 4 bangers. I think supersports are comfortable. Honestly my F4i was a better street bike than my 919, which is leaps and bounds above an SV650 IMO. Sure it didn't have the low end grunt of a bigger bike or a twin, but it pulled from a light faster than traffic riding two up and shifting BENEATH 3k rpms without bogging or giving a fit at all. So I'd say it had more than enough low end... Nowhere did I say keep the F4i because it tops out higher than the SV. All I said was I would personally keep it.

Oh yeah let's not forget how the F4i has a vastly superior frame, suspension, brakes, etc than the SV. Yeah you can mod an SV but that's time and money and it will always be, at it's core, a budget/commuter/beginner friendly bike.

Also, if you want to compare local areas, $3500 for that Ninja 650 would be a good buy around here in the summer. I could see it going for over 4k fully repaired. The F4i might grab 3k if she fixes it up real nice, but they have really gone down in price. I just see a higher potential profit on the 650 provided it doesn't have any serious mechanical damage.

Sorry for being so rude! I was more mad at @Finesse for even mentioning getting a Ninja 650 over a dual sport/supermoto.

Lol my bad, you know how humor doesn't translate so well over text and I guess it had been a long day. I was really gung ho on wanting a dual sport/supermoto too but then I realized I want to take some long distance trips and I just really liked riding sport bikes regardless of what might be more fun in one way or another. I figured I'll definitely have a dirty hooligan bike some day but while at a point in my life where I only own one or two bikes one of them definitely needs to be a really good road motorcycle, thus the 919.

I'd go for the DRZ400SM personally. The supermotos just inspire a "hooligan" type appeal that is hard to resist. While I'm still looking at straight sportsbikes, a supermoto is on the list of bikes to someday try out.

Best of luck whatever you choose!
