250 riders what are your riding buddies riding?
I usually ride alone but my 2 friends with bikes have a Vulcan 1500 and a HD 883. Kind of weird seeing the 250R in bright blue coming down the road between those 2 bikes.

same here. The only comments they really give are - doesn't your back hurt and how do you get on an off that thing. guess they don't realize that the 250 is more upright position than it looks. maybe a 26" seat height bike will be somehting i will appreciate in a few more years. though I do think that 883 iron looks cool, but kind of overpriced for what you get.

One friend has a GSX-R 600, SV650S and a ZX-6R, the other has a Ninjette.
Sometimes I also ride with my stepfather and his friend. He has a Triumph Thunderbird, and his friend has a Victory Vegas which is ungodly loud and annoying. |

The first group I rode with were buddies I used to work with and they ride Buells. The guys I work with now ride Hondas and a Triumph. And this last Saturday I rode with KJohnson21, ManyCavies, and Cali619. Ken had a Yamaha but the rest of us were on Ninjettes. Ride report is coming once I get the video processed.

The two I normally ride with are on a Speed Triple and a GSXR-750... They're awesome about stopping so I can catch up ;-)
I've even converted the GSXR by putting him on the Ninjette... He's going to move to a KLX 250 in a month or so. |

Cool that theres a good mix of bikes to ride with. In my area I have only seen two 250R's riding together. Usually large groups of Harleys around here, or 2-4 riders on bigger sportbikes.

i was in my jeep last week on Rte 95 south behind an R1 and a CBR1000RR. They were both in the right lane. The cbr rider was over to the right and changed into the left lane which meant cutting right in front of his buddy on ther1. I was glad they accelerated away as i figured they'd take each other out right in front of me.

My primary riding buddy (the hubby) rides a Rebel 250. I've also have ridden with Spyders. Not got a chance to ride with anyone else on my Ninja. I've done benefit rides on my Spyder with tons of different bikes, mostly Harleys and other cruiser bikes.

I've only been riding with 2 other guys lately ...
One rides a Katana 650 and the other rides a HD Fat Bob We get some looks when we're up in the mountains together Funny thing is ... I'm the smallest bike, but they have trouble keepin' up! They are newer to riding than I am though, so that may explain it. They ragged me about my 'little' 250, but they get left behind on the twisties |

I only know two other people who ride motorcycles: one just blew a gasket on an old Magna 750, so he bought a brand new red Hyosung GT250R. Nice bike; it looks something like a new-gen Ninja 250, but under the bodywork is an air-cooled 249cc V-twin. Although they look like a nice machine, I am a bit leery of dealer support.
The other guy rides a Suzuki DR-650.

I ride with anybody who wants to ride. Having a 250 has not been a handicap--after all, you can only go so fast, and the Ninja is more than capable in that department. With the Ninja, you have to shift more often. Shifting is kind of fun and a good skill to develop. I do have a problem riding with cruisers who insist on running straight pipes. Headaches cease to be fun.
