BEET 265cc kit

So ive saved up enough money for the 265cc kit from BEET. But before i go ahead and purchase this , is there any mods i should do along with gaining 15 more cc's? besides re-jetting , air filter etc. My other question is will a exhaust made for the EFI 250 work for a carbed 250 without any negative results
By the way the kit costs 480 about the price for a exhaust.

I would be asking my self if an increase of 15cc is worth all the hassle

You may want to get the Adjustable cam sprockets from APE. They will allow you to get a little more and the BRT_TIS ignition would be a good idea if you want to really get into it . Have you thought about head work? And I don't mean the one on your shoulders.

its only a 6% increase in engine size. dont get me wrong im right there with you on trying to squeeze as much out of the 250 as possible and i looked into that kit as well but its so much of a hassle and a huge expense for such a small increase. i would build the head up first. cams valve job ext.

would only make sense if trying to cheat in a 250 racing class - where every little edge helps

I run in the 350 class at Maxton and Drag racing where it dose not matter. So it would not matter if I went up 15cc in displacement. These engines are a piece of cake to get the pistons out of . And boring a block is cheep enough. I need pistons so I can get stock size from JE . But I may have to buy 4 or look for the bigger ones from Beets. Dose anyone know what the compression ratio is?

I wouldn't say that.
It could cheat the lower HP requirement of some license types (in other countries), it could cheat the insurance co to keep you in a lower price bracket, it could give you a better balance of fuel economy and performance compared to a bigger bike, it could give you more passing power on the street without having to go too far (with a more powerful bike), etc

I am talking about a cost/gain benefit. To me the gain doesn't justify the cost. Now if racing and everyone else was running 250cc then an extra 15 could help.
