AreaP Full System Exhaust (Stainless w/12" Carbon muffler) 2008+

Selling everything you need to bolt it right up to your bike for one reasonable price ($295 obo):
Full Stainless Steel System w/12" Carbon Fiber Muffler (MSRP: $495)
Hanger Bracket (MSRP: $45)

There is some minor wear on the _back_ side of the muffler can, mostly the bracket, where the previous owner had it mounted too close to an aftermarket brake line. It doesn't affect functionality. The bracket can be replaced as well, but once it is mounted nobody can see the wear.

Fits 2008-2012 models. I decided to go back to stock because I just use my bike for commuting now and this pipe runs on the louder side and can get a lot of attention.

Manufacturer's product page:

I think some may be concerned that this could be one of the $150 Area P knock-offs. Is there anything you could provide to assure everyone that this is a genuine AP product?

I didn't even know there was such a thing. The previous owner never furnished receipts for the mods.

Is there any distinguishing factor between the knockoffs and the real ones?

In any case, thanks for the heads up.

I hear they are a pretty close match. @kbryant is the owner of Area P and he may could help. Here's is his member page for your use.

You can also do a search for "PLMFG" and find more information here about the knock-off. Most have no respect for it but others don't care it was a ripped off design, mass produced by China, and sold for less cost.

Area P is a small American company and my loyalty will remain with them.

I'm not sure that's enough. The "loco" on the can is an inexpensive sticker...

Yessir.

Also, the President of AreaP also confirmed the authenticity via email:
Quote:
That looks like one of our original units from 2008.
Sincerely,
Kerry Bryant - President

As a side note:
It was a great experience to deal with a company that treats people right and has excellent support. These days, that's getting tougher to find.
