What tools do you carry on your bike?

When you go for a ride more than a few miles from home, but short of a cross country trip, what are you carrying for tools? Factory tool kit, some swiss army sort of device, flat tire repair kit, or just the phone number of your roadside repair service (if any)?

For long day rides, no more than 150 miles I carry the factory tool kit, tire pressure gauge, swiss knife, and AAA. I try to take the bare essentials to save weight so I can go .1 mph faster in the turns with more lean

Bike tool kit, a couple of leatherman multi-tool thingies, tire plug kit and 12v compressor and a neat little battery jumping gizmo that plugs into 12v power outlet.

All I take is the factory tool kit and I do a pre-ride inspection of all lights, tire pressure and fasteners.

I replaced the factory tool kit, which has way more than I ever want to get into on the road side (change spark plugs or adjust rear shock preload?), with a $10 bike tool from Wally World that has all the required hex tips as well as a screwdriver. I also have my rotor lock and a plastic kickstand plate (because you never know just when you will be parking on some soft ground), $20 cash, and a fully charged cell phone.

There's still TONS of room under the seat cowl, too. Enough that I once tried stuffing my waterproof liner from my mesh jacket in it, and it fit!

Hey that .1 mpg gained in the turns can only help on the straightaways.

I always keep spare bulbs on the bike. Last thing you need is to have a bad running light out back and it be night time...

Thats my current situation as well. Was thinking of getting a tire plug kit, and a roadside assistance plan.

as well as doing pre-ride inspections and making sure my cell phone is charged of course.

Factory tool kit, first aid pack (mandatory by law in Austria), and that's it so far. I take my mobile phone and my wallet with me whenever I ride, so that if I run out of fuel, I can tank up, or if some sh*t happens, I can call for help.

I bought a tire pressure gauge which I'll have to get into the habit of using before every longer ride, or once a week or so.

i dont keep any tools in mine if im in town! with in 40 miles of home anyway. for trips tire guage, flat blade and philips screw driver, and one of those craftmen one size fit all sockets and a rachet! never needed tools yet knock on wood

I am in Rhode Island where the whole state is only 40 miles from end to end (maybe it doesn't deserve to be capitalized then. Anyway there are still some remote roads and I think if I break down here I can't even explain where I am. Maybe I should have more faith like HKr1. Too many years of dirt biking I guess. My service manager buddy tells me to just ride the thing.

Might add a flat tire kit though as supposed to take a trip a bit away from home over the weekend.

Factory kit, Metric wrench set 10mm to 17mm, metric Allen set, Leatherman tool, Slime 12V Compressor, Tyre plug set, Cell Phone, First Aid Kit, Flashlight. I carry some in the compartment under the seat, and the rest in my tankbag. Made a Harley rider`s day last week when I fixed his flat. Love that little compressor!

I carry this amazing white, 2x3" card with "AAA" on it. Everytime something goes wrong, this tool works!

Just the factory toolkit and the Canadian version of AAA for me... but usually with a good preinspection of tire pressure and lights

you can save some grams cause the stock fuse box has 2 spares

I was under the impression that AAA did not deal with motorcycles for roadside assistance. Dumped AAA and went with AMA.

depends on state. AAA southern new england does not do bikes.
