This is why you always ask for the old parts back. Sounds like it's time to call the shop.

Welcome to the magic world of repair shops !!!
The seal may be new and just dirty. New seals have soft rubber on which pressure from a finger nail leaves a temporary mark. Original seals from 1998 should be dry and hard as a rock by now. Those don't seal the bearings, but the whole cavity. The wheel bearings are factory lubricated and sealed and last much more than the 24k miles that your bike has. The sprocket bearing, however, is not sealed and needs extra attention; did they change that one as well? Take a look at these: http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Replaci...wheel_bearings http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/Reinsta...he_front_wheel

I usually ask for old parts back but didnt. Ill feel in the am if I can and also it shouldn't have a rust stain on their if it was new. I'll try wiping it in the am also but even the nuts and cotter pin don't look like they were ever removed.... so mad. Did I mention this shop is over an hr away...
K just took the pic. Is the one seal very thin???? And this is the rotor side of the wheel but I took a screw driver and pressed a little and it just scraped the black off..... I'm not stupid but is that a seal or is it really a piece of metal with a coating? I know it's 430am but damn thing is bugging me |
