tire following imperfections in the road.
You had too much weight on the handle bars and shifted the weight back which makes the front end get lighter. Some people don't know it but one hand may leave the bar faster or later than the other which in turn may slightly push the bar forward or pull the bar back and induce a small shake/wobble. Decelerating and accelerating makes it worse too. It's just my guess. Other factors, forks are twisted or not aligned with the triples. Unbalanced wheel/tire. Bent wheel. Worn tire, overinflated/underinflated tire, stem bearings loose.

To sum it up, i believe it's innate with our bike at lower speeds.

It is recommendable not to take both hands of the handlebar, since they work as shock absorbers, together with those weights at both ends of that bar. If you feel a stronger effect at high speeds, even with both hands on it; then you will need to worry, as those oscillations could rapidly grow and become a dangerous tank-slapper. The good condition and adjustment of the bearings of the steering column, wheels and swingarm and of the chain and brakes, as well as the proper balance and pressure of the tires will always help reduce those annoying oscillations. If it really bothers you now, try regulating the shock absorber to be a little higher, if it is not adjusted too hard as it is now, ......that may help.

I'm on another forum with a sub-group called the Mind In The Gutter Club... and this post title is straight up their alley.
Sorry... I couldn't resist That said, unless the wobbles get stronger as speed increases, it's not anything to be significantly worried about.

a similar problem and loosened and retightened
Lower fork bolts as stated in the manual for adjusting Steering. There shouldn't be any wobble at all even with driving One handed etc. Last futzed with by JAG; October 1st, 2013 at 10:55 AM. |
