Oil and coolant leak
So I had to quickly go for my last ride and winterize my bike since it decided to suddenly get cold and snow. Anyways, I didn't notice until today that my bike is leaking oil. I didnt have time to get more pictures but pretty much it seems like theres a like right behind the fairing...any ideas on what is leaking? Everythings just covered in sludge
Also, I am leaking coolant I am assuming its all coming from this hose clamp and running down the rest of the tube...possibly from the other end of the hose/hose clamp. I turned the bike on and couldn't see any leaks (from either the coolant or the oil) but obviously somethings leaking. Ill try to get more pictures tomorrow, just didnt have time since it was a spur of the moment ordeal and had to go to work. |

The oil leaks is most likely from chain lube on the chain dripping down from the front sprocket.
Tighten both hose clamps on the hose and clean it up as best you can and see if the leak has stopped or if the radiator has a pinhole leak where it exits the radiator at the hose. |

It does feel super sticky like lube and would make sense as its not dripping. I just cleaned and relubed the chain a week ago and it wasn't there so you're probably right.

Yeah looks like chain lube to me!
As far as the coolant there could be some corrosion under that hose, now might be a good time to flush your coolant, clean off the connections, and tighten those clamps. |

I would drain the coolant, pull the hose and inspect the pinch points to ensure it isn't damaged first. Might as well. |

This is the first time I lubed without going for a ride first. I've always warmed up the chain, cleaned with kerosene, rode again then lubed. This time it was cold and I was in a pinch and ended up lubing after cleaning and letting it air dry. Learned my lesson.
Anybody have suggestions of the best way to clean the fairing? Shits sticky as hell and I cant just wipe it off...not sure what to use that will not melt the paint. |

Citrus degreaser? It'll strip off wax but I doubt it would damage the paint. Re wash and wax after I'd imagine. Test on an inconspicuous spot first.
