finally a non-poser for the ninjette

been distancing myself from the honda bandwagon from day one. still feel totally justified in doing so. last discussion i mentioned suzuki ruling the roost for the better part of two decades, however i was personally waiting on a yamaha yzf125 upgrade. lets hope the R4 250 gets into the states, i'll be glad my ninjette will be 8 or 9 years old by then.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about the CBR250 being the first real competition for the EX250, though he forgot to say so.

This is my understanding as well.

I have heard so much about the CBR250. One thing in common is that everyone brings their bias to their review. Leads me to believe it's a solid bike, but not significantly better/worse than the ninjette, as far as 250s go.

I'm 6'0" 160lbs, by no means a large guy, and the thing that turned me off is that it seems a bit smaller than the EX250. Just boils down to personal preference I guess.

Having sat on one being 6'3" 190lb, it felt more "spacious" than a ninja because of the peg position. The size is off-putting though. It felt really small being on it, mostly because the fairings are very narrow. It feels like it would be really good as a backroad commuter and/or doing a lot of low speed inner city travel. Waiting for a demo ride day to see what they really feel like.

But I have noticed that regarding reviews. The main negatives I've heard about it are "It's too small" and "it doesn't look as aggressive as a ninja". From everything I have heard it sounds like a great bike. Like you said it's up to personal preference; if you want a aggressive looking mini 650R, or if you want a more tame slick looking bike.

One thing is for sure. It's a hell of a lot better than a Rebel as a readily available alternative 250 choice!

To me, the coolest thing about the introduction of the CBR250, and possibly the R4, is what it signifies.

1) There isn't enough supply to meet demand for entry level/high efficiency sporty motorcycles.
2) Other manufacturers are unwilling to let Kawasaki to keep this market for themselves.
3) Kawasaki will have to stay on its toes to compete.

The more the merrier I say.

Does it say the R4 has a 190 rear tire?? That's larger than my 600!

I agree 100%. There have been threats of releasing this bike for years. My bet is that it was not released because of the economy. But it probably just delayed it a bit. I would not be surprised to see it surface(in some form) in the next year or two.

The Honda CBR is the BEST bike ever made! It win everyones hearts!....

..I want to see one in person though. I'm sure Honda did a good job making the motorcyle. It is what it is, a easy to ride, good MPG, bike.

there is a cbr250r and a cbr250rr bro, that means two different bikes being brought up. i agree with you that the cbr250rr was all that. i wouldn't touch a cb250r with a barge pole. K?

they talked about the ninja 250 re-do for a good three years as well, and it happens with most "big " happenings in cycling especially after years of the same stamp out (even good ones).

I think he means,
1. He hates Honda. Always will.
2. He feels Suzuki has the best bikes for 24 years now
3. He wants Yamaha to stop di*king around and make the R4 already.

screw the honda, one cylinder. Read a shoot out in sport rider, they said you can stick a fork in the bike at 80mph. Id buy a hyosung 250 before Id buy the honda.

It? It as in the CBR250 or It as in Honda? Notice I asked, "what is wrong with Honda", not, "What is wrong with THE Honda".

I think Honda makes some pretty cool bikes. I can definitely see myself jumping on a 600rr in the future. I don't like the 250, hence why I got a ninjette.

The CBR250. There are a lot of good-looking Hondas.

to be honest, as much as i would NOT want a new honda cbr250, i would definetly be into one of their 125's. but we're going to be flooded with both 125 and 250's so i'm a waitin' patiently for these there 125's. for those of you who don't know, that means i'm looking for a 125cc not a 250cc. Love y'all regardless. ????

Went to the local dealer yesterday.
He said they cant get any Honda 250s. They are stuck somewhere else. The delivery date has been changed 3 times. He doesnt expect to see any 250 Honda's this summer.
The only 250 on the floor had a SOLD sign on it. He said he HAD 11 of them and that was the last one.

Hey All

DO NOT but a new honda 250. YOU WILL be disappointed.

Wait (Patience) and ye shall be rewarded with high performance 125cc and 250cc motorcycles THAT CAN hold a candle to our Ninjettes.

Patience, pass the year with research and dreams and saving if neccessary. No more "Mods" just research. Love y'all.
