I was wondering where that oil was coming from, and this saved me a lot more time looking for leaks.

I reposted this on facebook and so my track owner (and awesome racer) replied with this. Thought it might be of some use or discussion here.
"Some of it true, some of it not. Dave (who's writings were the basis for that article) is not very highly regarded in either the tire or suspension field of the industry. Ask any top Suspension guy and they'll tell you he doesn't know his stuff. Priority is getting the suspension and tire pressure set for what WORKS, not what your tires look like." - Roger |

^ No two big cocks will agree on everything pretty much ever cuz the other has to show how much bigger his cock is compared to other guy so this is not surprising.
But however true this may be it gives a novice nothing to work with or any starting/reference point to tune from other than "it feels better or worse" <-- sometimes good, sometimes not as good depends on rider their actual skill and how in tune they are with their bike so again kinda shooting in the dark for a lot of riders. An inferior setting might feel better to someone but only because you are using it as a crutch for your lack of skill and ability to do said task that highlights this mechanical setting "hey you, person with little track experience, set your tires and suspension up for what works for you, so glad I could help " I don't know if you can tell these things about your tire pressure and suspension from reading tire wear but if you can and it is true then it would give you actual data that may highlight pros and cons of your riding which then you could make measurable adjustments or educated decisions from. ^ that's my take away
