July 10th-Malibu-Valen Dolce Group Ridé

Going to head out with SCAR on this group ride- want to see if any Ninjette members want to join in??? I've done a few rides with them and they are a bunch of cool guys who love to ride....

Here's the low down.....

Meetup at Valen Dolce***** 1426 Montana Ave, #5, Santa Monica, CA 90403 *****RESERVED BIKE PARKING IN FRONT***** Valen Dolce is owned and operated by resident track whore, baker extraordinaire, and SCAR member Howard Chai

We'll start off the ride with a meetup at Valen Dolce for breakfast and a good dose of bull-sheit. A quick stop for gas for those who need a fill-up, afterwards, let's take a run up to Malibu. The pace will be very similar to an easy cruise. Then lunch at Netpune's Net. Since this is going to be an easy ride, we will be cruising around speed limit. It will be an easy ride for newer riders or anyone who likes to just chill on their bike, so bust-out them cruisers yall. Depending on how many people show, we might have a separate group that will travel the more technical sections of the same route. This route’s got lots of great scenery, few stop lights and many slow twisties. A stop at the famous Rock Store to check out the Harleys, Ferraris and Porsches, and travel down PCH as it starts to warm, up onto Neptune's Net for some tastee eats. The 101 freeway is just around the corner for easy access after we say our goodbyes.

Here's the link to SCAR (SOCALASIANRIDERS)- great group of guys based in San Gabriel and you don't have to be Asian- "They are ALL Nice"

http://www.meetup.com/socalasianriders/events/16735699/

Who's in? We could meet up and ride out to Valen Dolce in Santa Monica....

HHHmmmm- I had that exact setup on my last set of tires.....honestly...they are a freakin' incredible tire for track days and canyon riding, but are not going to last you that long if you do a lot of street riding. The 150 does slightly pinch. I loved them but they did not last as long as i thought- especially for the price- have you thought of the BT016 or the BT045s or the Mich Pilot Powers? If you looked at my threads you'll see an entire discussion with pics talking about the BT003.

Read your thread. So in you opinion whats the best tire for the street (75%) and the twistiest (25%)?

I'm thinking the BT-016s

I'd do the BT016s...I've got the Mich Pilot Powers 1- loving this tire in the canyon and on the streets.

I am 50/50 on this ride, Sharon is interested in it and we have done pch in Malibu and she loved it. I am a bit concerned about the ride to the rock store I can only assume you guys are going up from te bottom and not through the snake. She has about 500 miles under her belt which is not bad for riding 3 weeks though she has neve been on a group ride. Dinger what do you think will this ride be over her head?

As for the tire discussion I will be going with the pilots when I order my new tires, I have them on the fazer and I love them.

Here's the link to the route

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&sour...,0.331306&z=12

I've never been on this ride but from the description and past rides- these guys are not racers by any means and it did say slow and moderate pace which I believe anyone can handle. They have a lead rider and a sweeper- most of the time the pace is just right and loads of fun. I think she could do it. As for the twisties- they might break out into 2-3 groups depending on skill level and beleive me these guys a super chill about anyone riding- it's not a race at ALL! Hope you BOTH can make it- I'll be getting my Malibu cherry popped that day

I was supposed to meet 2 guys in Pasadena at 8am but one backed out and said he's going straight to Santa Monica. So I'm waiting on the other guy to see if he still wants to meet in Pasadena at 8am- most likely I'm going straight from my house to Santa Monica. I'm off the 210/Sunflower. Let me know if you want to stop here first.
