Just Received My New Exhaust..! INSTALLED DanMoto.!

Hey everyone, I posted earlier that I wanted to buy a Two Brothers slip-on or a MGP Growler slip-on. We had a long discussion, which honestly made me confused. But don't get me wrong I appreciate all the help and feedback I received. Ninjette.org has been great to me.

Now the good stuff.

Since I was on a budget and the slip-ons I was looking for were near the $300 mark. I went with the relatively new exhaust on the market. It is the DanMoto Carbon GP slip-on. I have read mixed reviews, bad and good. So, lets see how it turns out. Enjoy the pictures.

www.danmoto.com

Price - $80
Removable Baffle - $8 (which I did not receive, emailed DanMoto)
Shipping - $40 (China to Pennsylvania) (They make their money on shipping, the actual shipping cost was 37 China YEN which comes out to around $6)
Total - around 130 shipped. (cant beat that price I guess. )

Let me know what you guys think, any feedback is welcome.

PS - sorry for the bad quality pics, was taken with an iPhone. Didn't have my camera with me.!

INSTALLATION PICS ADDED

I will let you know for sure once its installed. Will also post up pictures.

until now its seems to be pretty decent quality. The carbon fiber sleeve looks to be a good quality one. TIG welds are done properly as well. Will let you know how the install goes (looks pretty straight forward) and above all I will let you know how it sounds.

a bunch of us here have that exhaust, me included. some like it, like me, and some dont. with the baffle its still a little loud...i like it like it with the baffle rather then without. it adds some back pressure to the system.

I have the exact same exhaust. Unfortunately within about 4-6 months it has a burn mark on it where heat seems to build up and the carbon is cracking at the rivets on the bottom (closest to the inlet). I know some have had problems with these slip-ons and some have had success. I love the look and sound of the exhaust, unfortunately I will be shopping for a full exhaust over the winter storage period. I really can't complain too much for the price, but I wish I had just saved for a full exhaust system.

you know, I saw one of these the other day on a used '08 250R in the local stealership, and the core and exit holes are WAY bigger than I thought they were based on pictures of it! it's also really really short. I couldn't decide which 250R looked louder; the red '08 with the DanMoto, or the green '08 with the Jardine GP1 right next to it.

Can you do me a favor and take look at the inlet diameter of the Dan Moto can before you install. I've got one on my bike but the inlet side is welded up to my Area P pipe. Thanks!

@Jojah17 - Sure, but do you want a Picture of the inlet? or the measurement of the inlet diameter? Let me know. (haven't installed yet.)

@massacremasses - Well at least you'll have a nice bedroom to walk into?

this is a really nice exhaust.. maybe because I have one too lol

but in all seriousness, this is a good exhaust, IMO. I like it because it is loud enough to let that cager know that you are approaching.. but sometimes it does get a little annoying it being that loud.

over all I think this is a good exhaust.. hope you enjoy it.

DanMoto Installed.

Hey everyone,
Just as I promised. I got the Exhaust installed today. Was a great day, warm and sunny.!

The Installation went pretty smooth except for one thing. It took us about 30-45mins to install the exhaust. All together it took about an hour. (taking the stock off and adjusting a part).

The only part that we had trouble with was the hanger for the canister. The stock bolt did not fit through it, and it didn't come with one. So we used a portable grinder my friend had and made the hanger holes a little bigger. After that it was smooth sailing.

The sound of the exhaust was way above expectations. It sounds amazing, it is really loud and has a WRX rumble to it, which is amazing and I love it. I think this is the best bang for the buck.! Lets hope that it holds up quality wise. Will keep you updated.

I want to thank everyone who helped and guided me, and especially thank @saxnbass for convincing me to get this exhaust.!

PS - MORE PICS IN THE ORIGINAL POST

I think you are the 4th person in the last few months who has said that danmoto "forgot" to include the silencer core/baffle for a 250 exhaust. I'm starting to suspect it might not be an accident.

@MotoED - thanks man.!

@94fiveohvert - actually i did make a video of it, while riding. But did not make a video of the exhaust. I will make a good video of the exhaust. The hose clamp that is lower on the exhaust was there that was holding the stock heat shield. We realized after the exhaust was installed, so we just tightened it, and left it there. lol.

@Skippii - that is interesting, I did email their customer service and I did get a reply back. They said sorry and claim to have shipped it out. Will find out if they are playing games.!

@massacremasses - Yeah we were trying to find a good spot to mount it from the rear, but failed. It sits nicely on the tank tho, but I am sure you already knew that.! lol

@all - Went out riding tonight, just got back. Its nasty cold out there I tell ya. Haha.! Fogging and tearing issues ruined the fun. lol. Exhaust sounded amzing.!

Area P exhaust question

Hey guys I just got an area p full exhaust used on craigslist and couldnt wait to install it. I have already installed it and it sounds great. I had already pulled the snorkel and shimmed the needles with 2 washers. Now i am waiting on a stage 2 jetkit from amazon to arrive.( might be a couple more days). Heres my questions: Am I ok to ride the bike around town for maybe up to a week without the jetkit? Or will this damage my bike. I know i should have waited to do them together but I guess im somewhat impatiant So yea i would assume i might be running lean (although it seems to run much better than before i do get some minor backfire when i rev pretty high. Just really wanna know if its harmful for my bike to ride like this for a little while.... any thoughts would be great, was thinking about adding another washer in the mean time if im running lean i cant tell.

Performance will be lacking. Won't hurt anything short term but running in a lean condition for an extended period of time can damage your motor.

If you have a stock airbox (minus the snorkel) I'd say not super lean but definitely more lean than stock (when adding the Area P).
